After taking another charter trip with Capt. Stewart Ames with my son and our friend, we were rewarded with great memories, super photos, and 30 plus redfish and trout!! It does not get any better than that!! As a Pinellas County citizen, fortunate enough to live on the water, who tries hard to catch fish on my own, nothing compares... More

Booking last minute family trip to Tampa. Hoping to fish. Captain Ames already booked solid (fyi plan ahead to get in with #1 Charter) but asked where we were staying, who would be fishing, etc and then made a thoughtful recommendation for another outfit! So although i cant comment on an actual fishing trip I can say What A Nice... More

Being the first time for fishing salt water we checked several sources for a charter captain. After being highly recommended we booked Capt. Stewart Ames, Gone Fishing Charters - Tampa, FL. We certainly made the right choice. Capt. Ames has the right equipment, boat, motor, tackle, live bait and most importantly the expertise for good fishing. He quickly found the... More

My brother-in-law lives in Tampa and he definitely found a treasure in Gone Fishing Charter Capt. Stewart Ames. My wife and I are from upstate NY and when we come to Florida we always look forward to a fishing trip. Capt Ames is a top notch angler and a class act person - a joy to spend time with on... More

This is my 4th or 5th charter with Stewart Ames. Always a good experience. Works hard to get you on fish even when conditions are not optimal. Stays positive and keeps the trip enjoyable even when some fish are missed. Highly recommend him.

Had another fantastic experience with the family on a half-day charter with Stewart Ames. We caught numerous large Spanish Mackerel, Red Grouper, and Key West Grunts. We also caught a Bonita and a large King Mackerel. The action was non-stop, and we had a blast. As always, Stewart knew just where to go and what to do to keep our... More

Neither my Wife Michelle nor myself had ever fished the Gulf before; Captain Stewart put us into Spanish Mackerel, Bonito, Mangrove Snapper, Redfish and Snook. We also hooked and lost a Barracuda in the 20-25 lb. range and a Cobia in the 25-30 lb. range. Cap Stewart's tackle, bait and boat are all first rate and the Captain himself is... More

My two sons and I were recently fortunate enough to go fishing with Captain Stewart. The day was beautiful and the action steady with a variety of fish! Awesome boat, gear and plenty of bait. Great fishing guide...kind of like fishing with a buddy. Once the fish are fileted and bagged, make sure to ask Captain Stewart for directions to... More

We had a great day on the water with Capt. Ames. He's very knowledgeable and honest. Per his recommendation we went offshore looking for grouper and we caught quite a few. Unfortunately we caught 5 within a half inch of the slot limit for keeping but they were super fun to catch. He's a great guide and an even better... More
