Very warm Sat. Morning 6-6-15 my very good friend and my daughter and I were ready for the tour and Charlie who filled in for his boss Lonnie was a Tampa native and had worked in Ybor for many years. He wore a straw hat and a typical Cuban linen shirt. A very informative and a very good speaker kept... More

My girlfriend and I took Lonnie's walking tour this past Friday. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned a great amount of historical information. Lonnie runs the tour at a great pace for everyone giving very interesting information about Ybor City as well as the surrounding area. You can really tell he knows and loves his job. Ybor City is... The walking tour was so educational for all ages. The tour guide has lived in Ybor so he could relate to many of the stories. There are a few twists to the tour which keep it exciting to see what is coming next. Makes me want to go back and explore more on my own and also read more extensively... More

We have traveled a lot of places in Florida, and spend a lot of time on the East coast, so we decided to try something different for my husband's birthday. My husband likes cigars so I said let's visit Ybor City. We have never been there, even though it is only an hour away. I looked online and saw the... More

Lonnie was such a great host for the tour. I was very lucky to have a private tour and learned so much about Ybor City! There is ton of history there that you would not find out without someone as knowledgeable as Lonnie. We wondered around several blocks and he had an interesting story about each building/area. I highly recommend... More

The tour was just over two hours. Lonnie was very easy to understand and had some great stories to tell about the founder and how the city played a part in Tampa's history. If you have a few hours to kill take it then do lunch or dinner at the Columbia restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

We spent a morning in late March with our guide Raymond Miller, who was an expert at his craft. I feel the tour is a little long, especially in the heat... but Raymond kept it all interesting. It was great money and time well spent... and would do it again!

Lonnie was a wealth of information. He kept the tour moving but was not fast-paced. Several shaded stops and 2 air conditioned stops were included in the tour which was a nice break in the Florida heat. Thank you Lonnie!

I've been on a number of walking tours in different cities and this is the best I've ever experienced. Tour guide REALLY knew his topic i.e. he hadn't just memorized a script but has been researching Ybor for a long time. Highly recommended.

I always look for walking tour to learn about the cities I visit, and this tour was very informative. The tour guide Lonnie brought the building and street to life with his wonderful way to give you the cultural history. The tour ends at the visitor center, make sure to watch the film. After the tour right around the corner... More
