When driving toward the bridge on 275 north, you get a side view of how majestic this structure really is when looking across Tampa bay. Approaching the bridge it reminds me of climbing that first hill on a roller coaster ride. It seems like you just keep climbing , then once on top, you get a terrific view of the... More

The current bridge was erected to replace the original that was knocked down during a violent summer rain storm. It's an awesome sight to see, and thrilling to drive over. The biggest thrill is to do so while a freighter passes under the bridge as you travel over the ship!!! If you're in the area, you have to see it... More

Road trip from Tampa to Miami and took the drive down the coast through Naples, etc. The views are amazing. The bridge is beautiful and the piers are quite unique in that they stretch really far into the water. There were plenty of people fishing. It was a nice road trip.

We are not from the Tampa area and really liked seeing the bridge and the fishing piers that were available to drive down. We saw some great birds and dolphins swimming along the edges. It was a nice trip for less than $4 to drive down the pier and see the birds, take pictures and enjoy the view. This is... More

The skyway bridge has been noted as one of the most visually appealing bridges in the world. It's the essential connection between Tampa/St. Pete and Sarasota/Bradenton and points south. The toll is $1.50 each way and there's a rest area/fishing pier at each end. The bridge is wide enough so that it shouldn't cause discomfort to most who are unhappy... More

I just love being close to the water, heck I live in Florida right ? Well I wanted to try bridge fishing on the Pier (I went to the North and will try the South next). Park your car, turn on your tunes and throw in your line.....even if you don''t catch anything (neither did I) but the sea air,... More

I always enjoy this picturesque bridge, but tonight was especially fun. As we rolled up to the tollbooth the attendant was singing boldly and just plain having fun at work. It make us smile AND sing along!!

With this bridge being 431 feet in height and connecting St. Petersburg in Pinellas County and Terra Ceia in Manatee County, Florida it can be a sight to be seen. We enjoyed crossing over with plenty of time to take a few pics and a video.

Nice drive both day and night. We rode our bike across it. Great views of St Pete's. Well worth the $1.25
