It's a very pretty place. Get in touch with nature on one of the trails, the river is very beautiful in some areas and is great place for a picnic.
There is so much to see on this river from the Hy.301 State Park and it's gator's and boardwalk, Fort and history of this river is beyond the amount of space here to give details. Go start anyplace you want it's great. Fishing, and boating awesome.
My husband and I spent several hours walking through this park, over the suspension bridge and along different trails. It was lovely and a very nice walk. We completed approximately 3 easy miles, taking photos all the way.
Paddling this river is a true primordial experience. Especially from Sargents Park to Morris Bridge Road. There is a stop midway for lunch. Lots of birds, gators, and turtles. Fantastic!
My wife and I rented a 25.00 canoe yesterday and paddled about halfway to I-75. Next time we will go the whole trip. It was a solid 2 hours and that was the perfect amount of time.
