My friend had previously been to and loves this attraction in Tampa, FL. We visited on a weekday in June, 2015. We took a standard (daytime) tour of the location. We were able to see many of the cats, and some were active. It was interesting to hear how the staff cared for the cats and stories of how they... More

The rescue is a place that takes in big cats that have no where to go. Many of the cats come from people who bought them as pets and could not properly care for them. The facility runs off donations and volunteers so go and support them. The tours is outdoor walking tour. We went in August and it was... More

The staff and volunteers know how to put on an exhibit. On Father's Day 2015 we joined the Big Cats and their keepers for a steamy afternoon of picture taking and amusing ourselves with the antics of the big guys. Not only did we have free run of the place, pretty much, but they gave us watermelon to keep us... More

I had gone here a long time ago, about a decade, and I loved it. Visited again and loved it still. The cats all have pretty sad lives up until they came here. A lot of them are ex-circus animals. And a lot were owned by drug lords and other people illegally and were treated horribly. Seriously abused and neglected.... More

Visited Big Cats once, they didn't have many of the cats out or maybe they just didn't have many cats. Overall, worth the price to see at least once!

It was saddening to see these big, majestic cats being kept in small cages. It's more of a mini-zoo than an actual animal sanctuary. I personally believe that these big cats deserve a much bigger space to live in.
