Pleasant Surprise, not a zoo and no animals performing tricks. Mostly run by volunteers. Nice piece of land hidden in the city.

This place is great for big cat lovers and animal lovers in general. Please visit this sanctuary, the more people that go, the more money is raised for the ongoing care and rehabilitation of these beautiful animals. Plus it's a great 1.5hr walking tour that is highly informative with up close viewing of these great creatures

I went to the rescue last week, and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the location. I followed their channel on Youtube so I did have a realistic idea of the surroundings, true I thought the cages were a bit on the small side for such large cats, but given the number of felines and the surrounding land they've used... All of the proceeds from admission and the gift shop go towards these great cats. The volunteers are knowledgable and really care about the well being of each and every cat.

If you like cats, you'll love big cat rescue. There are walking trails taking you by so many wild cats and sometimes you're no more than 10 feet away. It's a lot of walking on unpaved trails so it can be muddy on damp days. Pick the right time when it's not too hot and you'll have an incredible experience.

Went for my daughters birthday, and we had a fantastic time. Very informative, and the guides are super helpful. But it is a lot of walking, keep this in mind if you have small children.

We took the 10am tour and it wasn't that crowded. The people there are nice and helpful, they got it down as to how to check you in, etc. The... More

I applaud the work that BCR is doing. The care that they provide for these cats is to be commended. Please visit these guys, make a donation, sponsor an animal and help the cause.
