Adventure Island is a great place to escape the summer heat. Something there for everyone. They used to let you bring coolers in with lunch and drinks. Not sure if they still allow that.

Great place for kids to run around and parents to sit back and watch. The WHOLE park can be ran in about 3 hours if you go early. The slides are high so, get ready to climb those stairs

This is a very clean beautiful water park in Tampa Florida. The best thing I found is the height requirement for all but three rides is 42" as it should be and makes it enjoyable for the smaller kids who know how to swim like my son.
