Recognized as the #1 Zoo in the U.S. by Parents magazine (2009) and Child magazine (2004), Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,000 amazing animals on nearly 60 acres of natural habitats. Guests will find many interactive exhibits and opportunities to get closer to wildlife -- feed a giraffe, hold a lorikeet, touch a stingray and more. The Zoo's Manatee and Aquatic Center expands the traditional boundaries of a zoo, focusing efforts on critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Also at the zoo: splash ground water play areas, wild rides, educational shows and restaurants. Zoo daytime admission prices are: adults - $27.95; seniors (60+) - $25.95; children (ages 3-11) - $20.95; and children 2 and under are free. Daytime admission includes unlimited amusement rides. Parking is free.

Excellent place for a family with children because it has a variety of rides and activities for kids all ages. The best value is a yearly family zoo pass that can be used for visits of number of other zoos and attractions across the U.S. It included also free admissions to Tampa Mosses during September.

This was our first time here. We arrived a couple of minutes before they opened the gates so we was one of the first ones to get in. We really had a good time because, since it was early, we got so see everything without going through long lines and a lot of crowd. The kids had fun playing in... More

This was a blast! It's a fairly easy walk, and a great half day trip. There was really only 1 animal that was hiding bug we saw everything. All the animals had large areas with room to spare. The elephants are my favorite wild animal and seeing all of them there (including the 2 babies) with so much room and... More

This is an excellent presentation of lights. They extended it for the Month of June a must see so check the web site for the dates in June and bring your whole family. School is out so there is no excuse to bring the kids. They also have some show to watch. Also check Groupon for a couple and save... More

The Chinese inspired lights were fabulous and as it got darker the zoo took on a whole new quality. A great attraction..a fun evening.

If you are in the Tampa area with a family, this is a well maintained, very nice zoo to attend. You can bring some snacks in with you, just not coolers. The best part is that you can purchase some bird food and you can feed some of the parakeets! It's really fun to do! There are also some rides... More

I gave been here several times in the past and was always happy with the visit. Was disappointed this time. Too many habitats with just birds. Viewing of many of the amimals was difficult. Appears much work is being done and the Manatee exhibit was disgustingly dirty.

Zoo was great, nicely laid out with plenty of water stations to get a drink! Great collection of animals especially if you look for them as is most zoos. Heard people complain it was hot and the animals were all sleeping, hello it's Florida and animals sleep a lot. Didn't see these visitors dancing around in the heat, why should... More

We had never been to this zoo. They were having a special Chinese lantern and light show. It was really amazing to see this.

We love going to the Tampa Zoo. Fun for all ages. Lots of things to do, even a nice large area for the kids to play including water. Kept my 5 and 7 y/o boys busy.Free parking.
