Recognized as the #1 Zoo in the U.S. by Parents magazine (2009) and Child magazine (2004), Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,000 amazing animals on nearly 60 acres of natural habitats. Guests will find many interactive exhibits and opportunities to get closer to wildlife -- feed a giraffe, hold a lorikeet, touch a stingray and more. The Zoo's Manatee and Aquatic Center expands the traditional boundaries of a zoo, focusing efforts on critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Also at the zoo: splash ground water play areas, wild rides, educational shows and restaurants.

Zoo daytime admission prices are: adults - $27.95; seniors (60+) - $25.95; children (ages 3-11) - $20.95; and children 2 and under are free. Daytime admission includes unlimited amusement rides. Parking is free.

Our daughter her children and my wife and I spent a wonderful day at the zoo. The kids loved feeding the giraffes from an eye level platform and seeing the African animals up close. They have a children's area which they enjoyed and of course the manatees were a favorite. The zoo layout makes for easy walking and there are... More

We bought the Tampa city pass after our week vacation in Clearwater turned very cold. Not knowing what we would get with the ticket to the Lowry Park Zoo, we went in with no expectations. It was a great day for the kids! We fed giraffes, birds, stingrays. The weather was chilly, so some animals weren't out. But the many... More

This place was great to visit this time of the year, it was not crowded and we walked around the park at our own pace. We were able to see everything up close!

This Zoo is probably one of the best zoo's we have ever been to. It was very well maintained and they really do have the animals best interests at heart. It was very relaxing, no loud roller coasters roaring past you, way better than Bushgardens and not selling you something non stop like Bushgardens. You are really able to get... More

Spent a morning here last week, compared to the modern zoological facilities in Singapore zoo and Austrailia zoo it is lagging behind with still too many small enclosures. The elephant and giraffe enclosures where good and the animals had plenty of room to roam about. It is worth doing the zoo train ride.

I love to go to nice zoos. This one did not disappoint. It was clean, well laid out, and the animals were in very good conditions. There are some interactive things for children like riding a camel and feeding a giraffe. We loved the entire experience.

Amazing experience. We have been many times before. This was our first time doing the Tortoise experience. This was amazing. Getting to interact with these massive gentle creatures was wonderful! We were feeding the giraffe when a call came over the radio about the zebra giving birth. We ran over and sure enough we saw the live birth of an... More

My family went to the Lowery Park Zoo last week and loved it! I was traveling with my senior parents, and a young man in a wheelchair. Everything was accessible (although the lift on the tram was not working) and many benches to rest for the parents. The animals are housed so beautifully and the place is well maintained. I... More
