Recognized as the #1 Zoo in the U.S. by Parents magazine (2009) and Child magazine (2004), Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,000 amazing animals on nearly 60 acres of natural habitats. Guests will find many interactive exhibits and opportunities to get closer to wildlife -- feed a giraffe, hold a lorikeet, touch a stingray and more. The Zoo's Manatee and Aquatic Center expands the traditional boundaries of a zoo, focusing efforts on critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Also at the zoo: splash ground water play areas, wild rides, educational shows and restaurants. Zoo daytime admission prices are: adults - $27.95; seniors (60+) - $25.95; children (ages 3-11) - $20.95; and children 2 and under are free. Daytime admission includes unlimited amusement rides. Parking is free.

Needs improvement, it was really crowded and there wasn't much to see. Would never go back and it was a waste of money. I spent only a couple hours there and it was enough to see the couple animals they have.

The zoo is very unorganized, the animals are not well keep, the animals don't have enough shade, the animals look exhausted and hungry, the pool for the animals are so dirty that they can't be appreciated due to the accumulation of dirt on the glass. I'm overall dissipated with the zoo and the keepers. I was talked into purchasing an... More

Have to say Laura and I had a great time. Reminded us of Christmas in Wisconsin. Bring your camera...you'll see awesome lights and maybe some animals.

I cannot rate the zoo itself as it was way too hot to spend the day there. But, we did attend the Zoominations exhibit in the evening. This is a light show featuring Chinese lanters, animals, flowers, dragons, temples, and more all lit up. It was quite the exhibit and we and our grandkids were glad we saw it. There... More

Light displays while pretty were missing a lot of working bulbs. The crowd level was way to high; half the zoo areas are closed during the event, but it seems the same amount of people who are allowed in on a normal day were allowed in for the event. Variety show was cute, but it would have been nice if... More

I enjoyed the visit to this zoo. I would love to be able to see it all lit up after dark. The place is fairly large, so be prepared to do a lot of walking.

We finally made it to Zoominations, the Chinese Lantern Festival, on an evening where it wasn't thunderstorming. The lanterns were lovely and huge, and we were glad that all of the concessions remained open. The lights really were best after dark, even though you can enter the park much earlier. The teenager was disappointed that the animals were no longer... More
