My husband and I visited the zoo during a weekend trip. I was surprised that it wasn't overwhelmingly busy, but that really made the difference in our visit. We weren't fighting the crowds to get close and see the animals. My only complaint is the zoo recycles paper goods and other items as toys, etc. for the animals. Although it... More

The zoo is very diverse and one can tell there are constant improvements being made. There are nice rides as well for young children including waster bumper boats, a roller coaster, and small airplane ride. The log ride is short but plan to get soaked. For that reason we did not ride it, otherwise it would have been fun. We... More

We went to the zoo on Good Friday and had a fantastic time. Only problem (and through no fault of the zoo) we got caught in a torrential downpour around 2 in the afternoon. The sea lion exhibit is only there until May 31st, so be sure to check them out. They are a real treat! The animals were all... More

We had such a wonderful time at this zoo. My son was just under 4 at the time we went, and he loved the roller coasters and the kid area, but all of the animal exhibits are awesome. Go mid-week to beat the crowds. By the way, I met the SWEETEST goat there. It followed me around like a cat,... More

If you want the best of rides for this young age group and a great place for strollers and wheel chair kids this is it. It has roller coaster, floom ride, train, and little water park sprinklers for them. There are manatees, fish, birds, baby elephants, lots of animals. It the cheapest place to feed a giraffe . Have kids... More

It was kind of expensive to get in here but there are nice rides in the zoo that are not an extra charge, so it kind of evens it out. The grounds are pretty and there is a lot to do within the zoo.

If you haven't been to the zoo in awhile, then treat yourself. The Lowry Park Zoo has added more animals and more things to do. It can all be done in a day if you start early enough. The walking is easy, and the maps get you where you need to be. Great for kids and adults of all ages.... More

Superb layout and access to view and interact with animals. Two bird enclosed cages where a person can purchase food and feed the birds. My 5 year old granddaughter loved feeding the Lorikeets that perched on her arm, hand and even on her head! The entire interaction was safe. There's a great goat feeding/petting area and train, banana planes, bumper... More

Florida's LPZ belongs to the AZA and has a long history of exchange with the San Diego Zoo in California. It's a gem of a zoo! Make sure to spend a full 3 hours, and see all of the areas. Take an animal ride (ponys and camels). Learn the difference between an African and Asian Rhino, see the Okapis, enjoy... More
