Ok, let's just start with my major gripe! The ticket price at the door was close to $20 (they only offer AAA discounts if you buy tix at AAA before coming). Had the $20 covered most of the cool things in the park, $20 would have been reasonable, but it didn't. By the end of the day, I had doubled... more

I really didn't expect to enjoy the zoo, but this place was wonderful. It was the most cost effective thing we did on our vacation. The place is exceptionally clean and well laid out. You have to feed the animals, it was fun to feed the giraffes and the Lorakeets. more

We have been to many major city zoos and my son still enjoys this one the best and I understand why. Lots of great animals (babies a great deal of the time) in easy to view exhibits. Lots of shady areas, great variety of animals, water spouts, rides, animal interations. My son NEVER misses feeding the giraffe 3 crackers for... more

this was a nice zoo, but i dont understand the rating of best zoo from child magazine...there seemed to be a strange flow to the zoo where you had to keep walking in and out of attractions to end up back in the center...it was also very expensive!! then after you pay admission all the rides cost a lot (either... more

We all had a great time at the zoo. We have a Chattanooga zoo membership for $45 per year, but it got us into the Lowry Park zoo for free through the reciprocating zoo membership program. Our only disappointment was that we didn't arrive earlier in the day because the zoo is huge with tons of lively animals. My boys... more

I enjoyed the Tampa Zoo very much. The best part of my zoo adventure was feeding the budgies/parakeets. I went into the budgie enclosure with some treat sticks and the budgies flocked right to me. They landed all over my arms and shoulders. They were very hungry and ate the treat up. Some were nibbling on my shoes. They were... more

The Tampa Zoo is awesome. I've been to zoos in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Knoxville, Memphis, Miami, Tampa, and Washington, D.C. Tampa is my favorite with Miami being a close second. I've been to the Tampa Zoo three times and I make it a point to stop by anytime that I am in the area. Every single exhibit... more

Lowry Park Zoo is in Tampa which is about an hours drive from Orlando but worth the journeyt! The exhibits are attractively laid out with leafy, shady boardwalks around the enclosures and a welcome set of play fountains at the entrance to cool off in! The animals have spacious and well designed enclosures. As Brits we particularly enjoyed the North... more

Loved the zoo! It was probably one of my favorites in the South . The weather in Fla. is super hot in the summer. If you can avoid comming in the summer you should. We went there while my husband was at a conference so we just had to go when we did. The only thing I would complain about... more

Lowry Park is a moderately large zoo with nice exhibits, kids area with water (cool off in summer!), and a McD's and more for lunch. Or, bring a picnic and eat in the surrounding lovely park. Across from the zoo is the river side with shade, creeks, springs (not for swimming), and boardwalk. At least a good half day! more
