Nice. Little place to visit while in Tampa area

Lots of store bars food stops and cigar rolling stores. A part of Italian heritage I had no idea before my visit

We went to Ybor City to visit the Jose Marti statue and the former Ybor cigar factory where the Cuban National Hero rallied support for the cause of the independence of Cuba. The stairs from which he addressed the cigar workers and population are still there thanks to the care of the Church of Scientology that now occupies the premises.... More

Rarely do I visit a place that I dislike so much. I tried to like Ybor. Really, I did. I took a good look around, thinking, "there has to be more to it than this". Sadly, for me, there wasn't. So, what exactly is the appeal of Ybor? Well, if you're a "twenty something" who likes partying in dive bars... More

Ybor city night life is very good. Lots of bars great for bar hopping. Cigar shops from left to right. Us being from Miami we enjoyed to see the Cuban feel all over the place. The buildings are amazing, great history all over the place. Just be very very careful when walking around, there are lots of homeless and some... More

This is a nice area to hang out, different bars and restaurants to choose from, but not much in the way of shops or boutiques. There are some activities (trolley, movies, bowling), but overall not enough to sustain a lengthy stay. I echo some other comments in that the area takes a different vibe in the evening - caution is... More

We were in Tampa for a cruise and were looking for a place to hang out and spend the afternoon. The hotel manager suggested visiting Ybor City, a small Cuban community close to the cruise ship terminal. We arrived mid afternoon and spend a couple hours walking the area. There are lots of small art shops, cigar stores and the... More

A lot of nice restaurants and cigar stores within walking distance. Nice during the day to walk around to restaurants and site seeing, but don't feel comfortable at night there unless you are with a large group. I recommend this area for the restaurants and to purchase good cigars.

This old town still looks much like it did in the early 1900s, although the city of Tampa has done its best to tear as much as possible down and build new modern structures. They still roll cigars in over a dozen places all within the small area known as Ybor City. Bars, clubs, shows, and food, this area jumps... More

First, the Columbia is not to be missed! After that it's mostly bars, ethnic foods like Italian, Greek, Turkish and Cuban, cigar places galore, tattoo parlors, hipster coffee shops, head shops, strip club, drag queen place, edgy condos on the outskirts. It would be great fun if you are into bar hopping at night. That's not my thing so we... More
