Ybor City is an interesting place to have Cuban coffee (very strong and often served with extra sugar) and Cuban toast for breakfast. Afternoon is hot with not much happening and the area lights up when the clubs start opening and the music starts in late evening. Warning: Don't venture more than a block either way from Seventh Avenue at... More

At night, the darkness probably covers Ybor's age with its festivie nightlife. The brick streets and architecture are interesting.

Ybor City is ok depending on what you are looking for. My wife and I were looking to kill a couple of house during the day and honestly did really find much in Ybor City. We enjoyed the small flea market on Saturday morning but this area didn't offer much else. The entire strip mostly consisted of pizza by the... More

Many places to try your favorite cigar as well as places to eat. There is a streetcar to the area. A movie theater is also nearby.

We had dinner and then walked the strip and found a jazz lounge for drinks. We were there on a Friday night. It was a cute little downtown area.

If you are anywhere Tampa, be sure to go to the North side and visit Ibor City. The history is very interesting, including educating workers as they performed their jobs by reading books on history, geography, art, and other areas. Be sure to get a great Cuban sandwich. I had my first one at a restaurant advertising the "best Cuban... More

If you want to get an inside scoop on the history of Ybor city, take the ghost tour. On the tour you get inside some fantastic buildings and hear the sketchy history of Ybor and the citizens who built the cultural atmosphere it has today.

If you visit Tampa Florida...Don't miss going to Ybor City. it is one of Florida's National Historic Landmark with plenty of history and is Tampa's Latin Quarter. Visit the shop lined streets and many restaurants and Cigar shops. The Columbia is one of Tampa's oldest restaurants and is legendary. It is a beautiful place with good Cuban food and inexpensive.menu.... More

We went in the daytime, and walked around several of the streets, stopping in a few shops. It was very quiet, and you could tell there was a lot of history here, as well as a vibrant nightlife (which is something I'd like to see, but definitely not a family friendly atmosphere). There area has its own museum and welcome... More
