If you enjoy history this is the place to visit. We took a Segway tour of this historical part of Tampa. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area. I learned something new about Tampa's history and the Cuban founder of Ybor City. Bottom line it was worth the visit.

Cigars. Just an amazing experience to sit back and relax and spend some quality time with friends. Neat place to visit, relax, and smoke a stogie.

Unless you like overcrowded bars and a lot of drunk people, it's a much calmer environment during the day. Definitely have a Cuban sandwich at the Columbia Restaurant (make sure you have a reservation!) and then take a stroll down the streets and watch cigars be rolled by hand

Spent a few hours in the afternoon on a week day walking around Ybor City with my wife and found it to have a very calm vibe and very interesting. Walking by and into several shops where cigars were being hand rolled was very neat. We walked into several local stores and down the streets and it was a very... More

We usually drive through here to get to Ikea but recently decided to drop in and pay a visit. It's very old and rather run down but there are signs of regeneration and there are some interesting shops, bars and restaurants. Plenty of free parking around the main street. Call into the cigar making factory, even if you don't smoke... More

Ybor City is a fun place to visit - even just to drive through. Check out the mural art telling the story of Tampa's multicultural history. It's a great place to walk - grab a drink at open air cafe's or try one of many fantastic places to eat.

Ybor City may be hopping at night, but it is rather boring in the day. We ate at a place called Gaspars Grotto. I can't even find it on trip advisor. That is ok, as it was not that good. We should have eaten at the Columbian, but we ate there last time and we wanted to try something else.... More

In all of the Florida tourist books you will find Ybor City so we though we would go, this was a mistake. It is known as a historic neighbourhood and maybe many years ago it had some style but now it has NO style. Nothing of interest to be seen here at all, filthy, scruffy streets. My Wife describes it... More

Ybor City is a fun place. We came to Tampa for some Spring Baseball & stayed at Ybor City to enjoy the Cigar Shops, Bars, Restaurants, Theater, Shopping & People Watching. They have a lot of events, so check before you make plans. There is plenty of parking. We've never been disappointed!

We had dinner at Columbia Restaurant and then walked a few blocks around the historical center. It was full of people, full of tatoos, there's a lot of small places with billiards, women wresling, bands playing. Lots of fun. Don't go during the day. It is dead.
