I stop there on a sunday, 12 noon some restaurants were open, the streets were empty, not a lot of action during the day i guess. Historic place to visit and learn about it.

We went there on a Thursday night and were surely disappointed. The streets were dirty and full of street people, which made us very uncomfortable. The bars and clubs were mostly young folks and very few of them. we went to two well-known chain establishments and the places were empty! On a Thursday night at nine thirty. My wife felt... More

My husband and I went there as he had been years ago. Not much to do but enjoyed a pleasant late afternoon and evening at the bar overlooking the central area.

The Saturday morning market is great, lots of local vendors selling a variety of goods. Great creme brûlée stand and lots of cute eclectic jewelry. Besides the Saturday market there isn't much need to go there during the daytime with the exception of a few boutiques. I went last Saturday night with a girlfriend of mine and I will say... More

While visiting tampa, my husband wanted to go back to visit ybor city, bad decision! It may be historical but it has lost it's tourist appeal. We went at night and not only were the streets very dirty, but even a bar we went in had a roach crawl across the table right in front of the bartender. She acted... More

I lived in the Tampa area for 2 years and I still can't figure out what makes Ybor City a tourist attraction. Run down buildings. Very little parking. If you're in the Tampa area visiting don't waste your time.

Hubby wanted to go to Ybor City while we were visiting in Tampa. He had heard you could get cigars here. He did find some he liked, however I was a little disappointed that there did not seem like there was much to see. Not horrible, but not a stand out place in my opinion. There were some homeless people... More

Lonnie Herman gives an excellent city tour! Much history was learned. A definite "must do" for anyone not familiar with Ybor City.

Ybor City is one of the most historic districts in the United States: founded by Italians, Spaniards, Jews, Cubans and Germans. These 19th century immigrants built social clubs, medical organizations, opera houses, cigar factories and a society like no other - the famous Cuban Sandwich was invented here. The only piece of land in the United States which is owned... More

An area in Tampa that has bars, clubs , restaurants. Clubs really for 20 and 30 something year olds. Nothing happens during the day, the street actually looks very depressing, not appropriate for young children. ( And we did see some little ones with parents our late at night!) It was an interesting place to visit, I think we expected... More
