We visited during the day and went shopping and went to lunch at the Columbia Restaurant and enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere but I wouldn't visit at night. It seems like it would be more of a party place.

We visited Ybor city twice while on vacation in the area. The first time was during the day, early in the week. It wasn't busy. So we could visit shops and just walk without any clutter and it was fun and enjoyable. Then, we came back Friday night because it was recommended for the crazy night life! And bar hopping... More

Have no interest in going again unless I am looking for good cuban food...I believe that could be found.

These several blocks are filled with interesting cigar shops and eateries. It seems to be lacking in clothing/ souvenir shops (a few vintage stores). The Sunday we visited there was a food festival going on which was fun to see so many different foods being cooked over open grills. Definitely worth the visit for a few hours.

Ybor city is the remainder of old Tampa's cigar industry. Today you go on a walking tour to see and hear about the city's past and there are some good restaurants in the area the best known is the Columbia restaurant which features some better known Cuban dishes. But the area does cater to eclectic tastes and you can find... More

We sampled foods from every nationality that founded Ybor City...Cuban sandwich, Italian pizza, Spansh black beans and rice! Etc! Plus learned the fascinating history of Ybor City and its people.

This restaurant is incredible. Absolutely stunningly beautiful. We arrived at 12pm having booked in advance. By 12:30 there were lines waiting so DO book in advance! The dinner menu is expensive for my budget but we ate at lunchtime sharing the best Cuban Sandwich imaginable for $8.95 and Crab Croquettes for around the same price. The setting is exquisite and... Ybor is pretty lame. I visited Ybor while I was in Tampa because It seemed like it might be something fun to do/visit. There was really not a lot to do, besides visit some sketchy-looking stores. I walked all the way around Ybor and didn't really find anything interesting to entertain me.
