Certainly not what it's hyped to be and has declined in the last couple of years as businesses keep closing down. It's unfortunate as this could be a great little enclave with a little bit of effort...a lot of neglected potential. It's directly south of one of Tampa's worst neighborhoods. Between that and the problems from the kids who congregate... More

Cool area, best to visit it in the evenings or on weekends since there's more going on. Having Cuban roots provides this historic district with a great mix of culture. :)

Looking for a nice collection of restaurants and bars in Tampa area? You must visit Ybor city. Great atmosphere, everything you can think of is right there. Friday and Saturday evenings are the best, many locations offer live music in different styles.

Ybor CIty is an historic area of Tampa that is riddled with bars, restaurants, clubs, theaters, cigar shops, and tattoo parlors. Its quite safe at night and was fun to walk around and check out the various local clubs and bars. There is pretty much something for everyone here in terms of entertainment, but no real shopping to speak of,... More

So much fun. Parking garage was only $1 for up to 3 hours- best I have seen in the area. All places have great drink specials, great prices, and great food. A must stop while in Tampa. Would definitely come back for this

We were excited to get to Ybor since we had neither one ever been there and decided last minute to go for the weekend. I was thrilled when we pulled into the city and saw the historic buildings.....Beautiful! We FINALLY found a place to park and started walking. Being frequent visitors to St Augustine and Mt Dora we thought it... More

Here is where Tampa made it on a map. The Cuban community thst settled here opened eondeful cigar factories znd wrapped some of the best cigars available in America. The small area is steeped in history, great architecture, and wonderful eateries. It becomes a vibrant bar and club scene for all lifestyles after dark. I love Ybor.

Great place to get together with group. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance so no cars are needed. You can also take the trolley downtown to the riverfront to more clubs and restaurants, the cruise terminal, aquarium, and the riverwalk.

I used to manage a restaurant in Ybor City another lifetime ago (ok - ok - it was really 17 years ago!). The place used to hop day and night. Now Ybor is coming back strong, and it's a safe place to go as long as you stay aware just like you would in any new city you visit. Lunch... More

There were many historic landmarks & shops to see along the streets. Once can appreciate the history both Cuban & Italian. Food venues are readily available. Visiting during the day or early evening is better & traffic & parking more accessible then. For those who appreciate the night life, there is plenty of it but safety is an issue to... More
