We went to Ybor City last weekend as a day trip out of Orlando. The streets are a little hard to get around, parking is good once you find the public parking. We were there in early afternoon.we came across this Greek resturant. We were able to get seated right away. Our waitress Palay ( I believe was her name).... More

We recently went to Ybor City, Florida. We did not know much about this place before we signed up for a day trip but we were pleasantly surprised by the knowledge of our tour guide, Lonnie Herman. We learned so much about the man who started this city, cigar factories and why the buildings were built the way they were.... More

Despite it's tourist info centre - which makes a good effort - and its old buildings, Ybor city presents a generally run-down and neglected image. We went during the day (having previously been in the evening) and without the neon it's all abit sad. We had a drink and a snack at The Brass Tap brew pub, which is open... More

I may have not hit it on a good night. I've been to NOLA twice , so my expectations were a little bit higher. Ybor does have some great bars and restaurants. A good mix of nice places and dives. Kind of a freaky crowd. Which is what I would see. Definitely a fun place to check out and see... More

Most people do not know the heritage of Tampa / St Pete and pirates, but each year this area combines Martigra celebrations with the pirate take over of the City in history past. There is a great boat rally that escorts a pirate ship full of pirates to downtown. They land at the Convention Center and take over the town... More

Love Ybor! Be sure to check out the Saturday Market, the Columbia Restaurant, ride the trolley, check out Walley and the longest cigar, go down to Channelside.

Ybor City used to have a sense of being a Cuban historical area. When we last visited, 10 years ago, there were lots of restored attractions from the heyday when Jose Marti plotter here to overthrow the Spanish in Cuba. My wife and I returned recently with those good vibes in mind. Well, its all gone. The emphasis on the... More

During the day it is a quiet place to have lunch....and then at night it turns into a thriving entertainment district where you can park, walk to the movies, have dinner and then party the night away without ever having to leave!!!

While this area has lots of cuban history, there js little to do in The day time other than walk the fee streets and stop somehere for lunch, perhaps the Columbia Restaurant. While there are good restaurants here, the area needs some attention to making it a better tourist spot. I wish some developers would come to the area and... More

We visited here twice during our stay in Tampa. Once for the New Years Eve parade and again the next evening after the Outback Bowl. Ybor City reminds me a lot of New Orleans, especially during the parade. It is very pretty and unique. If you visit, take notice of the chickens roaming around and in trees throughout the area....
