Lonnie Herman gives an excellent city tour! Much history was learned. A definite "must do" for anyone not familiar with Ybor City.

Ybor City is one of the most historic districts in the United States: founded by Italians, Spaniards, Jews, Cubans and Germans. These 19th century immigrants built social clubs, medical organizations, opera houses, cigar factories and a society like no other - the famous Cuban Sandwich was invented here. The only piece of land in the United States which is owned... More

An area in Tampa that has bars, clubs , restaurants. Clubs really for 20 and 30 something year olds. Nothing happens during the day, the street actually looks very depressing, not appropriate for young children. ( And we did see some little ones with parents our late at night!) It was an interesting place to visit, I think we expected... More

My wife brought me to Ybor for my birthday. It was amazing! Stayed in a hotel downtown Tampa and rode the trolley into Ybor. Had wine and a cheese plate at Ybor City Wine Bar that was fabulous. Went to a 3D movie at Muvico Centro Ybor. Great place to see a movie and they serve alcohol. Bonus! Walked the... More

We go all the time just to grab a bite to eat or hit up a movie once a week. If your going with little ones that's cool just be sure to go early. The "Alternative" crowd comes in around 8 or 9 and its not very kid friendly.

A nice place to visit if you are into the party scene. Not much happening during the day but there is the Columbian Restaurant which is a must. If you are into people watching, sit outside with a drink and watch away. Especially after 10pm on a Friday and Saturday.

Went to Ybor years ago and had a blast. I use to say this was such a great place to visit but I recently visited it again and the place has gone down the toilet. Definitely not a place to take a family at night. It does have an odor to it that isn't healthy. There aren't many places to... More
