This is a quality attraction that emphasizes not only creatures from the sea, but related environmental environmental issues and considerations. It stands in stark contrast to the highly commercial Clearwater Aquarium that is a complete waste of time and money.

We were allowed to enter here from the ship without charge because of issues related to the cruise were on in the port of Tampa, so the VP allowed crew from the ship in (free advertising from ship crew to the guest maybe), but it was a nice gesture and I can see the aquarium is worth the visit. Enjoyed our visit but found the environment a bit drab. A lot of the displays areas were smelly and not that exciting to see. One area with live coral had some nice colour. One display was like a big black box with a school of fish in it. Can purchase tickets online and skip big line up that we had... More

We have been here several times and really enjoy the whole experience, you have to be sure to also do the river/alligator boat ride as part of your day. We try to go early and do the boat ride in the middle of the day to break it up and then finish up the park after that.

First off, I purchased the day pass with the behind the scenes penguins option. If you like penguins it's worth it! You get to pet them, watch them swim and waddle around, learn a bunch of information, and tons of great photos to bring home. :)

Nice place to spend a few hours on a rainy day. The exhibits were interesting and varied. The food in the cafeteria, although on the expensive side was very good as well. A good tip is to buy your tickets online. My husband used his smart phone to buy our tickets and even got a $4 discount. Then we arrived... More

Wonderful experience! It is well laid out with plenty to do so give yourself the full day. Each exhibit is in different areas/lands and there is the touch sting ray lagoon, hermit crab and no bone zone touch tanks. We added the dolphin cruise and it was raining but it is covered and we were still able to see Dolphins... More

We went to the aquarium while in Tampa before a cruise. It was a wonderful facility with a great variety of fish. My husband is an amateur photographer and took lots of beautiful photos!!
