Just took our two-year-old, and it was a GREAT time. The aquarium itself is very cool, lots of things to see. The kids waterpark/shoreline attraction was our daughter's favorite part. There's also a nice tiki-bar overlooking the water play area. more

I love aquariums, but this one did not cut it. We came here on a rainy day in Tampa (24 and 25 year old couple), and it was overrun by young kids and strollers. I understand the aquarium is a place for children, but I don't need a kid to scream and slam into me at every corner or someone... more

This was my first experience at an aquarium and I'm 22 so I expected a lot from all the stories I'd heard....it was horrible...first we went to watch the shark show...dumb! There weren't any big sharks! Being THE Florida Aquarium I expected dolphins, manettee's, and penguin's and there were absolutely none...it was just insane to me...it was 20 bucks for... more

We enjoyed the aquarium with 4 kids from ages 2 through 7. All the kids enjoyed seeing the animals and there was a nice variety of sea life to look at. The best part for the kids though was the outdoor water play area. There is a pirate ship that sprays water and water spray that you can point at... more

I read some other reviews and we decided to visit the aquarium before our flight left Tampa in the evening and we had 4-5 hours to spare. The building and the area that it is in are very nice and from the outside the aquarium looks quite large. Imagine our surprise when we were done in a little over an... more

I specifically went to the Tampa Aquarium to see the penguins. They have a "penguin promenade" show at 10:00 a.m. everyday, where the zookeepers bring out the penguins for the public to see. The 2 African penguins, 1 male and 1 female, were brought out by zookeepers in a wagon. The zookeepers spoke on many different topics, including the penguins... more

The aquarium has beautiful light shows, and many different kinds of fish and birds. Its in a great location in Tampa. However, my friend and I came specifically for the Penguin Promenade. The brochure promised 30 minutes where the penguins mingle among guests. We arrived at 10 AM, and by 10:15 we reached the area where the penguins come out,... more

If you are visiting the Tampa Bay area put this on your short list. It is well laid out and it is easy to leisurely explore. The times I have been it was not crowded. For locals, it is a good place to take out of town guests, especially for a rainy day attraction. There is an eye-level Wetlands display... more

We came down for a short weekend trip and decided on the aquarium because it was close to where we were staying. Overall we found it enjoyable. The venue felt a little dated. It was clean and there were a nice variety of fish. We loved the sea horse exhibits and the interactive fish wall. We found the labeling was... more

What a really nice surprise! Very clean and attractive aquarium in downtown Tampa. Plus, lots of added extras if the normal aquarium experience isn't enough for you. Starting with the fact they let guests, ages 6 and older, swim in the largest exhibit! Swim with the Fishes puts guests face to face with an amazing green sea turtle, moray eels,... more
