Beautiful view of the city from the 22nd floor. Be sure not to miss it! The new capitol is very interesting and after viewing all it has to offer be sure to cross the open area and visit the old capitol building. Both need to be visited! After your tour, you may want to return to the new building and... More

First time visiting Tallahassee and I was lucky enough to have a meeting close to the state capitol in downtown. I walked over and actually learned that there are two capitol buildings (old and new). There are tours for the old capitol building but instead I went up to the top floor of the new building, it was a spectacular... More

The day we went we got to see Rick Scott. That was cool. Very nice and clean. There is also a restaurant on the premises and an area on the top floor for viewing. I highly recommend. :)

We had a tour guide which was very helpful. Session was in but there was not much to see. I didn't d any research prior to my visit so I'll have to visit again when I'm back in the area.

Every Floridian should spend a day in the Capital building. Better yet, they should sit through a Senate or House session to see how bills become law. We have all heard the expression that you never want to see how sausage is made. The same is true for Laws. The Committee meetings are where it happens. The debate on the... More

Park down town and load up a meter. Maybe catch lunch before or dinner after at Andrews, 101, or jasmines cafe. You may rub elbows with a lobbyist or congressman. Anyways back to the capital. Go in check out the main entrance rotunda. Then check out both houses, who know maybe while in session you can see a law being... More

Granted we enjoyed our visit, not least because we arrived on a military appreciation day that had numerous troops displaying their wares outside the building, accompanied by a great brass band, and there were free hot dogs, soft drinks etc, . Also, we stumbled into a private tour group as it visited the House chamber and had the benefit of... More

What to do in Tallahassee, Florida. The top of the capitol has a wonderful view and on a clear day you can see the St. Marks lighthouse. It's not bad in a rain storm either. You might happen upon a great exhibition and if you try you might get to see the murals in the Capitol including the Christopher Still... More
