What to do in Tallahassee, Florida. The top of the capitol has a wonderful view and on a clear day you can see the St. Marks lighthouse. It's not bad in a rain storm either. You might happen upon a great exhibition and if you try you might get to see the murals in the Capitol including the Christopher Still... More

I didn't want to go into the new capitol building. We had just left the old capitol, and that was what I really wanted to see. I was wrong. This is very interesting. Take a trip to the observation deck and see the entire city. It is an amazing view. Much more to see here than you would expect.

The top floor has an art exhibit and a panoramic view of city. Rest of the building is mostly office space.

Nothing much else to say except it is the best view in Tallahassee. You can see the entire city from the top. It is one of my favorite places to take my non-collegiate visitors.

New building that offers nice sights. Not too much history. The 22nd floor has an observation deck with views is all direction.

If you are traveling with a group or there is a group at the capitol be prepared to wait in a long, slow moving, line. There is one metal detector and one security conveyor belt, so it takes awhile to get into the building. Bring an umbrella if it's raining, because you may find yourself waiting outside.

We dropped in on 26 Dec to visit the capitol building. The new building was closed, but the old historical building was open. I recommend stopping there for a visit. It is great to see and learn about the rich history of Florida and the evolution and de-evolution of the old capitol building. I think it was nice that Florida... More

Unlike most of the capitols, this one is a tall (22 story) tower without a dome. I was disappointed when I first walked through it. But, after taking a closer look I found several parts of the building to be of interest. The highlights include the view from the observation deck on the 22nd floor, the chambers (House and Senate),... More

Definitely worth taking the fast elevator to the top to see the vista in four directions on a clear day. No charges and a lovely way to get your bearings if you have a street-plan to hand up there.

If you are in town I would take the time to visit the Capitol. I went with my 3 teens who agreed it was interesting. The view from the top floor is amazing, plus there is art work and a few "hall of fames on lower floors".
