Just about everyone will enjoy the observation deck on the 22nd floor. There is also a changing exhibit on the east side. The available in the gift shop display is outdated and most if not all of the items are not available. The 5th floor houses the senate and representatives chambers but only had the lights on and the doors... More

We were lucky enough to stop after touring the "old" Capitol. The only real disappointment was that the House and Senate Chambers did not have their lights on.

The New Capitol Building sits immediately behind the Old Capitol building. Once inside, you are greeted with a huge, textured replica of the Great Seal of Florida on the floor. The 2nd floor has an overlook onto the Seal and is an ideal area for taking pictures of it. The new building has 22 stories and an observation deck that... More

Take in both chambers and then linger in the House to view the murals by Christopher Still following Florida history from the north americans to space flights. Also, look for the gallery of members of the women's hall of fame. Cafeteria in basement is exceptional.

Unlike most state capitols which have domed shapes ,Florida's state Capitol is a 22 story skyscraper. It does have a observation deck which gives a great view of Tallahassee. The house and senate chambers are on the 5th floor and the Governors office is on the first. There is also a portrait gallery of the Governors in the hallway which leads... More
