Beautiful gardens, very well landscaped and maintained. Peaceful, tranquil place on the outskirts of Tallahassee. We spent a lovely afternoon wandering round the gardens and hiking trails. Lots of birds to see too. The house is only open jan-April but well worth going in if you can.

We went to the Maclay Gardens to kill time while on the way to the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum. The Gardens were beautiful with the azaleas just ending their bloom. The pathways and the flora are very pretty. There is an interesting movie in the ticket office that you can view before you walk in the gardens which should have... More

Definately worth the visit. Beautiful Camelias and Azeleas in bloom during our visit. Wandering thru the many different areas was serene and inspiring.

Too pricey entrance fee. It is just a large Green Space that has been landscaped. Just take a walk in the woods,

Definitely recommend Maclay Gardens to anyone looking to spend a beautiful day outside. Walking through the gardens is fun and romantic. Great activity for families or couples. Also, a wonderful spot to take photos!!

Over the years of living in Tallahassee, I visit Maclay Gardens several times. If you enter via the Thomasville Road entrance, there is a fee for visiting but it's per car (I believe it is around $5). For special events (such as weddings), the fee is waved for all people who attend the event/wedding. If you enter from the Meridian... More

We happened to find this place on a recent visit to Tallahassee. The winding paths offer beautiful views of of this incredible property. In January the camelias are blooming, but I would love to check it out at other times, as well. The house and the history are very interesting, but the gardens are really the stars of the show.... Beautiful gardens with hundreds of camellias blooming profusely. There must be literally thousands of azaleas not blooming yet but I will come back to see them. The house is not open until January so I didn't tour it but if you are a garden enthusiast it is well worth the trip and only cost $6.00 per car.

We thought this property was beautiful and would come back during their peak season (Jan-April) which would really provide a great look at the place in full bloom.
