Just a short way off of I-10 in Tallahassee is the lovely Alfred Maclay Gardens State Park. While prettiest in the Spring with the azaleas blooming, it is also gorgeous in camellia season. Summer brings swimming in the large lake, and long walks along the brick and dirt paths in the garden. Nice picnic tables and grills at the lake.... More

Coming from south florida with the congestion and traffic, spending a few hours at the Maclay gardens was refreshing. One of the most beautiful gardens I have seen, a must stop for those who love the outdoors.

We visited in late May when there really wasn't a lot to see. The park has a lot of azaleas, so I imagine when they're in full bloom the garden must be magnificently beautiful. There's plenty of greenery to see in late May, but not much in bloom. I also expected the garden to be a bit larger, but it... More

Beautiful park with a great flower garden and an area for a wedding ceremony that is unbelievably picturesque with a long pool and a view of the lake through the trees that is amazing. Great place to get away from life's hustle for an afternoon of tranquil beauty.

The Maclay Gardens State Park is a wonderful place to explore. The gardens are beautiful with lots of walking paths and even trails too. There is a view of Lake Hall and Lake Overstreet. You can see falcons and other wildlife. There is a small museum inside the home. A great place for exercise!

This was my favorite stop at the gardens I visited in Tallahassee. I went during the day and it was only a couple dollars to get in. There was only 2-3 other people in the whole park when I was there so it was nice to take my time. The park was very well kept and easy to walk around.... More

Great 5 mile wooded trail that loops around the lake (for walking, running, mountain biking, or horseback riding). The trails around the garden are very nice as well. Loved the history of the property. Restrooms and water fountains available near the garden entrance. Boat launch and picnic tables available down another side road. Ample parking. Friendly park staff. Will definitely... More

Beautiful! You must not miss Maclay Gardens in the spring. The flowers are amazing and the garden trails are easy to stroll...no stress! The colors are magnificent and diverse. I actually enjoy the Gardens in every season, even the winter offers some terrific spots for photos. In the fall, the trails are draped in gold and russet. A visit here... More

Nice place for a stroll, even nicer if there are blooms. Even if no blooms, there is a lot to see just wandering around.
