We have walked on this trail many times in the Woodville area. We love it. We have allowed the children to use their scooters also. It is very popular with bikers. We see both young and old folks on the trail. It is always kept clean and safe and it is cool in the shade.

Good trail for exercise. Scenery is average. Good parking and clean restrooms at the north trailhead. We may be spoiled by the superior bike trail systems in Minnesota.

This very long blacktop trail stretches along the southbound side of the road leading from South Tallahassee toward Crawfordville. It's wooded along the right hand side most of the way, and sticks close to the highway on the left. I do recommend traveling in groups of three or more, as there have been a few incidents that require caution for... More

I did this once when the weather was just starting to get cooler. I loved every second! It is 16 miles one way. If you love bike riding this is a must do.

We rented bikes just up the road at "Great Bicycle Shop" (1 bike for 25 USD). The ride was nice and very easy, we saw some wildlife (birds, squirrels, snakes and angry dogs) and enjoyed a cold Cola and fried Shrimps at Riverside Café. The only thing i missed was more roadside signs showing distances to starting/ending points, nearest rest... More

The railroad ran from Tallahassee to St. Marks in 1835 and they took out the tracks and asphalted the bed a few years ago. Very nice trail and St. Marks is worth seeing...small museum with the old fort and good food right at the end of the trail.

We love riding this multi use trail on our road bikes. A perfect day is an early ride from the trail head in Tallahassee to St Marks then grab a scenic view in St. Mark's. Trail is canopy covered with trees and wildlife. Shady and peaceful. Popular place for bikers, runners, walkers and those who like to roller blade.

I've developed a love for riding Rails-to-Trails! So far St Marks Historic Railroad Trail has been one of the most enjoyable. Positives: Well maintained and visually stimulating. Negatives: Well, hmm, I can't say that I experienced any. Suggestions: If you are a recreational bicyalist like me be preapred and bring water, extra tire tube, pump and snacks. Try to travel... We actually went to Tallahassee to ride on the Tallahassee-St. Marks Rail trail. It is a beautiful trail and certainly worth the trip. It starts in Tallahassee and ends in the village of St. Marks that was a fishing village at one time.

Unlike so many rails to trails I've experienced that run alongside a major road and leave you exposed to traffic, the southern 7 miles or so of this trail are underneath a canopy of trees and runs through rural landscapes or behind small town country homes. Normally I would be grateful for copious amounts of shade, but we rode this... More
