Get on board The Sunshine Lady with Captain Nancy ~ Coastal Master Naturalist, certified marine mammal observer and wildlife monitor. Her mission, her passion, is to promote a healthy, sustainable environment for coastal and marine wildlife through research and education. She explains the issues thoroughly as the pontoon cruises the lagoon. She has so much to teach and we have... More

A 2 hour ride on a pontoon boat with lots of narrative by captain Nancy. Talks about the negative effects of fertilizers, education on mangroves, identifying many type of birds especially at Bird island. Stopped for dolphin watching. I liked seeing the area from the water.

If you wish to spend a couple of hours seeing one of the world's most bio-diverse estuaries and encounter many species of birds, manatees in season, and maybe a bottle-nosed dolphin, call Captain Nancy. She runs her pontoon boat out of Manatee Pocket in Stuart — day time tours and a sunset tour to "bird island" where thousands of birds roost... More

My family and I took this short trip today and it was one of the best attractions in this area. Captain Nancy is a wonderful, passionate person who is very concerned about the environmental changes that are happening due to misguided and poorly planned policies. The tour started promptly and we cruised leisurely around the Indian River Lagoon which is... More

This is not a Disney World ride. It's a lovely pontoon boat ride with a little history and some nature thrown in. Captain Nancy is very knowledgable and interesting. She doesn't just say the negatives about the environment. She tells us what we are doing right, what works, and what doesn't. I have done two of the tours with the... More

We decided to go on this trip with capt nancy. We startes out with a lecture on the Eco system how its being destroyed...I some what agree. Second, we did see a lot of birds and 1 manatee . Capt. Nancy needs to get hee boat fixed. It died 3 different times in the bay.....not good. She was very knowledgeable... More

We were so very disappointed that we spent 2 hours being lectured to about how bad the Manatee area is being destroyed and neglected. Education is one thing, but we were looking for an enjoyable experience....and this was NOT enjoyable. Constant depressing news concerning the plight of the manatee was not in the description of the tour. Negatives" Other than... More

Capt Nancy is extremely knowledgeable of & informative on the environmental issues affecting this region! In 1 1/2+ hours cruise we heard about the mangroves and seagrass that are so critical to the coast of Florida. Although we never saw dolphins or manatees, we learned a great deal about and saw abundant birds along the way. There were children (ages... More

I have gone on this tour several times and will continue too. It is highly recommended and offers a different perspective on the usual florida water tours. It is fun, informative, interactive and educational. The surrounding areas are beautiful as is the water. We saw ample wildlife. The tour guide Barbara is quite informed about environmental issues as well as... More

I have had the pleasure of going on the Sunshine Wildlife Tour a number of times and am frankly amazed at some of the negative reviews I read here. While Captain Nancy is passionate about changing some of the problems of the Indian River Lagoon, she is always positive about steps that can be made to help the situation. She... More
