This is the best beach in the hernando / citrus area. You MUST go early to procure parking but besides that there is an eatery on premises with snacky foods which are really very good. Plenty of room for the kiddies to run..even a play park for the young ones. I highly recommend this. More

Make sure you go early to park, it's a tiny place for so many people looking for a spot to park. More

Grew up with the white sand beaches in Pinellas County. Save the $5.00 parking fee and go south to beautiful white sandy beaches. If you go to Pine Island, wear sneakers in the water. More

This is a nice family place, with calm water and lots of kids. There is a snack bar run by a woman from Montenegro (look it up and surprise her with your knowledge of world geography). It is $5 per car to park, and there was lots of space on the weekend day that we went. The drive out there... More

It was cold so we only stayed briefly. As always it was beautiful. We watched a bald eagle perched on top of a palm cleaning itself. Didn't know they were in Florida so I learned something More

We visited family in Florida in January, and were very excited for our 1 yr old daughter to have her first beach experience while we were there. Since it was winter, it only cost $2. (Note: the ticket machine only takes coins or credit card). We really lucked out, because it wound up being low 80's/upper 70's while we were... More

Pine Island Beach has fishing, bird watching, play area for children, picnic tables and a snack stand along with a nice sized beach. It is like a private beach due to it gated entrance. They only allow as many people as parking permits. Prices to park range from 5 dollars to 2 depending on the time of day you arrive. The... More

Small beach with loads of Palm Trees surrounding the whole area. A nice Tiki Food Bar too with lots of foods to chiose from. The burgers are their top seller and their fresh ground burgers with the works. Lots of tables with umbrellas over them. Girls are very friendly at the food concession. Deep water on one side of beach... More
