Pine Island is small and fills up very fast on weekends, but keep trying. Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed several hours there last week when they spent their springbreak with us. Water is clear and shallow on one side and very safe for kids to explore. Beach is clean with picnic areas and grills, are also available on a first come... More

This little jewel of a park is situated at the entrance of the Weeki Wachee River as it flows into the shallow gulf waters. There is fishing from the north shore on the canal where the water is deep and sometimes you can spot manatees and dolphins. Lots of bird wildlife, a great park for the kids to play, a... More

Pine Island has beautiful white sandy beach areas, a great playground for kids, and a little snack shack to buy food. You can also bring a picnic lunch because there are lots of covered tables. Water is very shallow, but clear. Sunsets are gorgeous. You do have to pay for parking but it is a minimal cost for a nice... More

I liked the ease of getting there however you have to go early as space is limited. I liked there is a play ground for the children and showers, a small place to get food and drinks. Nice day out for children or just to read a book. Not much shaded areas so umbrella and sun screen is a must!!!

Drive to Clearwater, this beach is average at best. The water is very murky, sometimes it is near impossible to park, and you have to go out a mile to get into anything more than ankle deep water.

It's a small man-made beach area. It's best for sitting in the sun, water is ok, but it's more dark than blue/clear waters of the much southern Florida beaches. Sometimes the tide is so short you can walk really far before the water even reaches your waist. You pay for parking and they have a food stand "which is over... More

We love going there, especially for the spectacular sunsets. We make sure all of our friends and family who come to visit that they get there. It's a great way to spend the afternoon swimming and picnicking.

Pine Island beach is a nice beach with shallow waters and nice breezes.. The sunsets are wonderful here. There are bathrooms, a snack bar, grills, shelters, playground and ample parking. Its a great place to take the kids or grandkids. I love this beach.
