Following a hectic couple of weeks touring the theme parks we decided to relax before our journey home. Silver Springs is in need of a little TLC but if you get the chance it is worth the visit. The Glass Bottom Boat ride was fantastic. A very knowledgeable Captain navigated us through the beautiful waters entertaining us with a dry... More

I wish I had done my research, I hadn't been to the park in ten years and I was so looking forward to the rides and the animals. The glass bottom boat tour was amazing as always, and we did only pay one entrance fee for both parks, but we took our 11 and 15 year olds to the water... More

My family stayed in one of the silver springs cabins (#6) from July 15th to the 17th 2014. The cabin was way more than we hag expected for the cost. It was beautiful and very comfortable. After enjoying our two days there, we packed up and headed to the glass bottom boat at the Silver Springs attraction. The tour was... More

Went to silver springs to see some of the real Florida , it was a nice day out and the springs themselves where great. We took a picnic, which worked really well. The glass bottom boat ride was cheap and the museum was ok at 2$.

About one hour drive north of Orlando is Silver Springs state park. Very nice and quiet. They offer 30 minute and one hour boat trips. We took the 30 minute trip and gave us a good idea of the park.

Enjoy a glass bottom boat ride on the river and see fish, turtles and no doubt an alligator. The cost is nominal for this attraction. The sea grass covers much of the bottom. You will visit several springs, deep like wells, which produces millions of gallon of water daily. Several major films had parts done at this site. Our tour... More

Last week I took my family to Silver Springs so we could see what it was like after being taken over by the state. It was sad! Most of the park is closed! The whole reptile side of the park is closed. Most of the garden side of the park is also closed. All of the animals are gone! All... More

I was there for a Ford Mustang event. It was perfect for the huge car show. The park is great and was just taken over by the State of Florida due to the original owners let it run down. I'm hoping it will survive and the State can update it to the point it was at one time. It was... More

This is classic old Florida at its best. Beautiful grounds, and a gorgeous spring. Rent the canoes for an amazing canoe experience! The river is so clear and gorgeous, you can see down 15 feet! We went mid morning and saw an abundance of wildlife to include water birds, alligators and MONKEYS! Can't wait to return!

Considering the age and shape of this severely neglected park/springs, charging 8$ per car is almost insulting. Add in the cost to rent kayaks, take a ride on the glass bottom boat, the museum on the river side....it equals a lot of money with little return. It has amazing potential, very sad and highly unlikely the state will invest the... More
