Very large beach, complete with life guards. The town is increasing the size of the parking lots. Currently you need to get there early for a good parking spot. They have volleyball nets set up for everyone to use.

If you are coming from the south, to shorten your walk from beach, drive past the parking lot next to the (brand new) tennis courts. This lot is closer to concessions and A LOT shorter beach walk. You will not need to walk through the construction from here. The construction is not on the beach at all. The sand at... More

Beautiful, white sandy beach and warm ocean temperatures — especially in August! One evening we saw an owl at the entrance to the beach. The ocean will look different depending on the weather, but it's beautiful, regardless. When the water is rough, the water is not as clear - but most days are calm and it's quite stunning. The sand is... More

Visited Siesta Key earlier this week (August is the "off season" and was pleasantly suprised by the sand...the sugary..almost powdery-white sand that stays cool, even on the hottest of days. The downside is that the water is a bit cloudy and turbid from this fine sand....not the turquoise waters seen 20 miles south @ Manasota Beach on Blind Pass. Recommend... More

Beautiful warm water, powder soft white beaches! Great family atmosphere. I've been to beaches in Hawaii and the Caribbean and this almost beats them actually. Worth it. Spend a day watching the waves go by. Do not miss this beach!

BIG beach so plenty of room for the crowd. The white sand is so soft and incredible to walk on. Better take your sunglasses if you go for the day. Most amazing sunsets every time we have gone!

This is a beach for beach lovers...Pictures dont convey how wide it is. Ideal for kids, with shallow calm water that even inflatables are sold at the concession stand and allowed in the water. So much room its hard to imagine it would ever feel crowded....you'll see as many cars coming at sunset to watch the sun go down as... More

1. You have to walk through construction to get access to the beach 2. You have to walk a mile to get to water 3. Stupid expensive to get an umbrella and have to return at 4 PM 4. Restrooms are very dirty 5. Not much going on in concessions area. 6. Water is so dirty, you can't even see... More

It's a nice big beach with fine sand like the stuff you used to find in ashtrays. Unfortunately, you'll be trying to rinse that sand out of nooks and crannies for a while... Also it's very bright (refractive) on a sunny day, so bring sunglasses. It's well cared for & the pride of Sarasota. Enjoy!
