This is the second time that I have attended the drum circle in the past three weeks and I was quite disappointed. (I have attended in the past and never encountered this probem) I arrived at 3PM to get a good seat. As the evening progressed more and more people were standing in front of everyone seated blocking all view... More

We are a family with 2 elementary age children. The drum circle is fun. Drums, hoola hoops dancers, belly dancers. A festival like atmosphere every Sunday on Siesta Beach. I wouldn't go during spring break or a major holiday when the crowds might be ... less family friendly. There are police on horseback. It's something that should be experienced at... More

This should not be allowed. Its a public beach and it is a nuisance and should be a violation of a noise ordinance I think. I hate it.

Anyone can participate in the drum circle and everyone watches the sun go down. Fun thing to do when visiting Sarasota.

Since we stay close by when we vacation in Siesta Key we decided to walk down the beach to see what it was all about. We certainly enjoyed it last year, this year we took house guests with us and enjoyed it even more. We read up on some of the people who helped start it and that made it... More

If you are in the Sarasota area on a Sunday about an hour before sunset this is a must. I try to see it every time I am there and it is always good but never the same. Take a blanket or chair and go early because a perfect sunset Sunday it can get crowded fast. I have never seen... More

Everyone can drum, two sticks and a rock will do it if that is all you have. Dance a little or Just watch. Cool. Saw some cool things with hoola hoops and huge scarves. Huge white sand beach.

We were turned on to this little gem of an event by friends who frequent the area. It was a fun and funky mix of grassroots community activity, tourist attraction and hippy-dippy vibe. We brought our own libations and a blanket, toasted the sunset and enjoyed the spectacle.

This is so much fun. An hour before sunset drummers come and people form a giant circle. As the drummers play, dancers, hoopers and more are in the circle. Outsiders are encouraged to come into the circle to dance. Haven't seen anything like this anywhere else.
