We decided to make an effort to explore this park. It is a treasure to walk the trail and enjoy the shade of the mangrove and palms. It is a quiet spot to 'take five' and enjoy nature. Two trails took us to wooden platform and a lookout point over the inlet. We were fortunate to see schools of fish... More

Park is located at the end of Lido Key. It is a large park with lots of trails, as well as beachfront. Parking is more than adequate. Boat mooring, fishing, and swimming are allowed in designated areas. Restrooms and outside showers are located next to the parking lot.

We went with our grandchildren. They loved the playground, beach and picnic area. There were a lot of playful raccoons stealing food from the garbage cans...the children were fascinated by their cuteness!

South Lido Park is lovely. Soft powdery sand, not crowded, bring your own chairs or blanket. Great for walking and shelling. There are people fishing but not many. Great at sunrise and sunset.

We found this park and was very surprised it was free. The beach is nice for swimming, lots of picnic tables and grills. There are fisherman to watch and the gray heron was very entertaining. He would swoop in when someone caught a fish. There are lots of shade pines to sit under. There is a very nice bath house... More

Nobody told us about coming all the way to Sarasota and not being able to swim! There were no swimming signs which we naturally ignored, and then promptly got out of the water. The sulfur smell was overwhelming, like mixed with that and something flammable. We headed up to the overcrowded North Lido Key beach instead.

I'm from Miami and compared to our beaches, this beach is amazing. The sand is so soft! It's amazing!

Located just south of Lido beach, this area is well worth visiting. The park is adjacent to the area where the Bay meets the Gulf Ocean. Hence, there is better fishing and more diverse wildlife. Our 10 year old daughter enjoyed seeing the birds, crabs, and fauna.

My friend from Ohio and I strolled this beach and saw dolphins playing in the water. I have always loved this beach and I am glad it has kept its natural appeal!
