Fastidious place, but the day we were there the Ladies toilets were all leaking and hard to flush. They seem to have continuous plumbing problems and thought they had all been repaired. Go before you go, ladies.

We stopped here after we left Myakka River State Park, as we saw it on the way there. This is a gorgeous, fairly new national cemetery. Since it was Christmas week, all of the headstones had a wreath laying against them. There is an outdoor amphitheatre area for programs, etc. The woman who donated most of the money for the... More

My sister and I have had the extreme honor of having our parents interred here at Sarasota National Cemetery. The service was held there on 1/29/16. Not only is it beautiful, serene and calming, but the employees are very polite and knowledgeable of what is going on. We also had the Patriot Guard Riders escort us from Port Charlotte. Not... Didn't even know it was there. Found it by accident. Very moving experience. Would recommend it to anyone with a sense of the debt we owe to those who served our nation. A very peaceful and classic setting.

Very impressive facility. We're glad we pulled off of the road for a spontaneous visit to this National Cemetery. The plaza is fairly new and the photo displays are touching. The work of various artists is excellent. Make time for a visit.

During my wife and my recent vacation in Sarasota, I had the opportunity to visit the Sarasota National Cemetery. I have served in the Air Force for four years and have visited Arlington National Cemetery, the Punchbowl in Hawaii and last summer visited Normandy. Each visit for me is very moving and emotional. Such was the case at the Sarasota... More

If you go on a Tues. at 10 there is a free tour of the amphitheater. We had 2 very knowledgeable women give us the tour with lots of information. This is a fairly new cemetery so there is very little vegetation. Very neat. An eagle flew over while we were there.

Have been here several times to honor and remember. Take the time to walk the pavilion. Ten minutes of I-75 on FL 72 east.

Very nice tribute for the men and women who have served. Well kept, well maintained. This was my first time as a Canadian going to a US National Cemetery, I wish there was something like this in Canada to recognize the Canadians who have served.
