We get all the best movies thanks to this wonderful film lovers resource. I would encourage resident and long term visitors to become Film Society members and save money on every admission.

My 16 year old son who has type 1 diabetes went to see Divergent this afternoon at Lakewood Ranch Cinemas in Bradenton. He was with a group of other students of similar age most of whom were girls with purses. My son has a leather bag which he uses to carry his diabetic testing supplies and emergency snacks. If you... Yes, we went there to see Wes Anderson's latest movie, "The Grand Budapest Hotel" , while on vacay. Overall the experience was good. You can drink wine and beer here. She did, I didn't. Small art house type theatre, friendly staff, fresh popcorn, mediocre sound. The audio dropped off one of the scenes. Bummer. Guess I'l have to go back... More

Sarasota residents are so fortunate to have Burns Court, which shows foreign and art movies year round which are not usually available to the "regular" movie theaters. If you become a subscriber to the theater, you see those outstanding films for $5. How can you go wrong?

Made a push to see most of the Oscar nominated movies this year and many of them played at Burns Court Cinema. After the show, plenty of wonderful places nearby to eat like Owen's Fish Camp or Nancy's BBQ. Perfect evening. Parking a little scarce!

Always showing the latest in interesting films in an updated venue, complete with wine & popcorn. The Lakewood Ranch Theater is a sister to the Burns Court Cinema and offers a few more films than Burns Court.

You can enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with the movie. A totally relaxing movie experience with courteous movie goers and great entertaining flicks.

Poor site lines and poor seats barely compensate for the ability to see first-rate movies. Parking in the area is limited.

This is a quaint facility operated by the Sarasota Film Society. They offer the best selection of Indie, foreign, and "art" films in the area. Small set of 3 theaters, good viewing on smaller screens that add to the intimacy of film-going gracious employees. Only challenge is limited parking availability in Burn's Court area. When going you have to be... More

Burns Cinema is unique, artsy, and exemplifies the cultural sophistication of Sarasota. They have a habit of choosing excellent films that usually don't play in the mainstream theaters. Once in a while they "chicken-out" if a film is too controversial or if it's too far to the political left. However, their biggest problem is their small 4th theater that has... More
