Great place for history

Great place to study the past of South Florida. Come and fall back a 100 years and see what Florida has to offer.

Attended a wedding reception at the Estate. Setting is very lovely! Beautiful place to watch the sunset on the water. Nice work they have done on the grounds and the house itself. Love the history of the property and the area.

I just attended a wedding at this spectacular mansion. It was about an hour before sunset, so by the time the wedding ended and the party had started the sunset was beautiful. I've attached some pictures so you can see how spectacular the view was. During the cocktail hour you're able to walk around the home and see all the... More

I love this old time mansion which is smaller than many homes around here. We went for the holiday and they have several Christmas trees in every room all decorated differently. It is gorgeous. Amazing grounds. Pure class.

If you're looking for something a little different, visit this estate. It's fairly small, doesn't have a lot to see (in comparison to Ringling's Ca d Zan) but is a good example of it's era. Their decorated Christmas tree event before Christmas is fun, and you can purchase some of the ornaments towards the end of the run.

The mansion is gorgeous and full of history, and the grounds boast breathtaking views. It is buggy, though. And HOT n the summertime.

Best wedding venue I've attended in Florida. The mansion and the gardens are so elegant and not ostentatious. The wedding ceremony itself was held just before sunset on the back loggia facing Sarasota bay. Breathtakingly beautiful ceremony. Cocktails served later in gazebo waterside. Dinner served in main dining room was delicious. Desserts & wedding cake were served as a buffet... More

The Powel Crosley estate is one of those early 20th century homes right on the Gulf of Mexico. The man whose home this was created the very successful Crosley radio empire. As far as we could determine the home is only open during the Christmas holiday time when it is fully decorated and for the rest of the year when... More

Our son got married here! It was the perfect place for a sunset wedding right on Sarasota Bay. It showed the elegance of another era and it was fun to experience what it must have been like.
