We were extremely pleased with our guide, Tara, who was laid back and very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. She seemed to individualize the tour by finding out our interests and then making sure she focused on them. Since my interest is in birds, she pointed out all the birds that came our way and knew... We did a kayak tour yesterday with Jane as our tour guide. We had 3 in my group and that's all that ended up in the tour. We were all first-timers. Had a great time! Jane showed us a lot of different creatures that she spotted under the water. It was fun to go through the mangroves! We all are... More

We can confidently recommend this experience, as long as you are not expecting some sort of solitary wilderness adventure. When we launched, they had to split the I Kayak Sarasota clients into two groups of sixteen boats apiece. Two other companies launched just as many boats before we pushed out. All of this was handled quite well; just realize that... More

I Kayak Sarasota has a couple of different drop-off locations. We had them drop a couple of kayaks at Bird Key Park. We loved taking off from there as we could go to our favorite places (the Bay, mangroves nearby, etc), while avoiding the traffic of going through Saint Armand's Circle to Lido Key. The kayaks were delivered and ready... More

We had a great day with our guide directing the way. The mangroves were very interesting and we saw numerous birds. Jane was our guide and did a very good job. There were five in our party and we would highly recommend I Kayak Sarasota. We also used single kayaks and they were easy to maneuver.

My seven-year-old daughter and I took this 2 and 1/2 hour trip in late March 2015. I am an experienced kayaker and my daughter was new to it. The trip was great for us both. Our guide, Tara, really added to the experience with her academic training as a naturalist, her knowledge of the local flora and fauna, and her... More

We were apparently on the same trip as the previous review (I remember the scared little girl and the giant hermit crab) and had the same great time. Our party of seven, including three girls aged 16, 12, and 11, had two double kayaks and three singles (we had signed up for three doubles but they were short a double... More

My husband and I took our 7 1/2 year old and 5 year old girls on a morning tour with Tara. After a few tears when launching (our younger daughter was very scared), we had an absolutely magnificent time! Tara put our daughter at ease and helped get her in and situated. Then she offered our daughter to be her... More

We had 2 doubles and 1 single kayak and were lucky enough to get Tara as our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and VERY patient, since some in our group had difficulty managing their kayaks and themselves. Dolphins played out in front of us but Tara made sure that we kept a respectful distance from them and nicely instructed a... More

Very fun, a little difficult to do with a 9-yr old because of maneuvering the Kayak but if you have a strong adult it is fine.
