We paid the $5 extra for a guided second floor tour that also included the first floor. Well worth it to get the extra insight on Ringling.

It is truly amazing how John And Mable Ringling lived in Sarasota. Such splendor could hardly be repeated today. The Ringlings collected treasuers from all over Europe and donated them to the people of Florida and the world. Their collections may be seen at the Ringling Museum on the same grounds where Ca d'Zan stands.

This house is a glorious example of the the boom times before the Great Depression. Exquisitely and tastefully appointed, what could have been gauche is a beautiful home that isn't too hard to imagine living in. The admission is included with the Ringling Museum ticket but it's well worth the additional fee to go upstairs and see the second floor.... More

Ca d'Zan is right next to New College of Florida, where my daughter is in school, so when I visited it was natural that we'd visit. There are actually several properties at Ca d'Zan, including the circus museum (which is larger than I first thought--we didn't have time to give it as much attention as I would have liked) and... This is a wonderful place to visit. Amazing mansion. Only issue is an additional fee to see more than the ground floor. I don't understand if I paid $25 for admission to everything on the grounds of The Ringling why I have to pay MORE to get to see the entire mansion. That was the only disappointment

Sitting right on the water with a huge patio tiled with marble, It feels like Venice. Our docent made the tour. He was very theatrical and so much fun. So glad we spent the extra money for this tour. It was the highlight of the Ringling experience.

The Ringling Museum of Art and Ca d'Zan Mansion are hidden gems. Definitely not something you want to miss when you visit Sarasota, especially the Rubens. The gardens are also lovely, and the circus museum fascinating.

This house is spectacular--built in the 1920s at a cost of 1.5 million dollars, it is awe inspiring. Location, beauty, and refinement. You must do the optional tour to the tower--but not open when its raining.

A really nice place to spend a few hours, with the circus museums, the incredible miniature scale model circus, gardens and the rather grand Ca d'Zan house itself. Recommended.
