Magnificent!!

The beautiful Ringling Mansion, reminiscent of the bygone days of Gatsbyesque proportions. Filled with lovely antiques and paintings and what a view!. A Must see!!

What an amazing home. It's difficult to get your head around the money spent for such opulence back in the 1920's. We splurged and went on the Private Areas tour in addition to the standard guided tour. I would recommend this if you have time and money. It's an additional 45 minutes and an additional $25! But you get to... More

several tour options are available- over the years we've done both "Private Places" and the 30-minute docent tour a few times with friends. it's always a jaw-dropper when you see how the Ringlings enjoyed their beautiful spot in Sarasota.

From modest beginnings, John and Mabel certainly liked to live high with lovely surrounding gardens, Grand piano, pipe organ, tapestries, elegant bathroom facilities and coffered ceilings. The interior design and workmanship, art and furnishings reflected a gilded age second to none.

There was a free tour with little substance, learned more from the literature they handed out then from the guide. There is also a paid tour available.

While enjoying the Ringling Brothers Museum, we walked across the property to the home John Ringling built. Venetian in structure, the inside made me think of the Hearst Castle. Pay the extra money and take the Docent led tour. Check out the pastel colored window panes. Beautiful.

Remember to keep you timed receipt to be allowed into the house as we were force to return to the counter to get another timed receipt to enter. We thought the colored wrist bands, which required two, one for the grounds and art galleries and one for the guided house tour. Turns out you need another guided tour for the... More

The Ringlings had great vision for this home. We are so fortunate to still have this place to visit long after they've gone. There's so much to do and see. The mansion, the patio on the bay, the grounds, the art museum, the circus museum, the museum store....Plan to visit more than once.
