Great bike ride on Rail Trail

Great flat and smooth ride. Mileage markers, Rest stops with protection from rain. Be careful of tourists once in a while. :)

Been cycling around the state and this trail is one of the best. It just about the right length to get a great workout and is well maintained with not too many street crossings. Wish there was more shade but that's not always possible since it was a railway. So start early in the a.m. Interesting scenery and even two... More

Great trail around the whole Sarasota County......see the sites while you ride Your bikes. Have fun with family and friends. And you can take the family dog On a leash. Or if they are like our little " Nino " they too will love the basket on A bike as well. Either way it's a win-win opportunity. So go out... More

We were in the area and wanted to do something different than the beach one day. So we rented bikes and rode along the Legacy Trail. What a relaxing day. There are about 15 miles of trail, I believe. So you can do the whole thing if you desire. We took a slow ride and did about 2/3 of it.... More

I live not far from the trail, but because of entry points and my accessibility to them, I use the trail mostly as a bypass to get down to Venice or up to southern Sarasota, rather than my daily cycling route. The trail is immaculately maintained and well marked. If you're visiting, it does provide a good peek at natural... More

A very nice trail, in nature. The trail provides opportunity to marvel at nature along the way. Not very busy. It also crosses very few roads so you are not interrupted much at all and get to ride peacefully. If you enjoy rails to trails, this is your opportunity. Safe with kids...

The trail is a nice bike ride. We like to go all the way down to Venice. There is one small snack shop near the south side of the trail if you need to stop for a protein, bar, gatorade, or ice cream and to use the restroom. I do not know of any eating establishments close to the trail... More

Nice place to run or ride your bike. A couple places you have to cross the road, but other than that, pretty isolated. A couple of covered picnic benches along the route. Not the best for scenery, but we like to get the miles in biking without having to share the road with cars.
