The aquarium is interesting and informative. The sea lion show was good. The manatee exhibit is very well designed. The staff were helpful and pointed out interesting details about the animals. It was interesting to watch how the staff work with dolphins.

Wife & I attended the Sea Lion Family special show and then toured all the permanent exhibits. Mote has grown over the years and is now adding to their facilities. It is a wonderful educational stop for young families. We were so impressed we took out a Family Membership. Their research supports both Gulf and global concerns. If you have... More

We recently moved to Sarasota and quickly bought a membership to the Mote. It has been a great bargain for us because we have been there 5 times since January. It was entertaining for all ages. Most of our visitors have been thrilled by the manatees. There has been a sea lion show which runs through April and that has... More

Mote is definitely a place to bring children of all ages. We brought our children here years ago when they were ten and eight and most recently as college students. It is a place where you can learn much. The docents are very helpful and knowledgeable. It is advisable to seek them out and ask questions. The only criticism is... More

Have been here innumerable times with grand kids and house guests! Enjoy it every time. They are always adding new exhibits and you can even watch lab workers doing their experiments. The grands have all been on the guided boat trips with a Mote scientist helping them learn about marine life in Sarasota Bay up close and personal. Be sure... More

This is out on Longboat or close enough to be Longboat . A nice trip pass the circle and onto the islands. The place is a research center for marine animals etc. You will enjoy your time here and maybe even learn something about our sea life and how to protect it.

The sea life was interesting, but nothing truly outstanding. Place is old, and seemed dirty too. It is also a bit pricey for what you get. Avoid crowds on week ends.

What a great time! We went out on deck boat, relaxing ride to grass flats. We threw the castanet and the researcher gathered all the little shrimp, crabs, lizard fish, starfish, sea horses, and we looked at Em. Dolphin swimming next to boat was real cool too!

Great for kids under 12 as you can touch and feel a lot of sea life. You can easily do this in a half day and the sea lion show was ok. The shark tank was nice and the turtle rescue area was very interesting.
