We spent an evening at Siesta Key beach (to avoid sunburns) and I highly recommend it for kids. Our 5-year old had a ball in the sand. We also visited Turtle Beach (to get away from the crowds on Memorial Day) and Venice Beach (for shelling), and she was much more interested in playing in the sand at Siesta. No... more
Ahh..... Siesta! After checking out the fishing pier at the Skyway Fishing Pier State Park, I headed south in search of more beautiful gulf coast beaches like the one I left in Clearwater. My plan was to follow the coast as closely as possible and stop at any beach that seemed interesting. As luck would have it, my first stop... more
This is probably one of the best beaches in Florida I have ever been to. The sand is like powdered sugar and the water is crystal and clear. There are washrooms, a concession with food you can order or vend and even hair wraps for the kids. There were quite a bit of people the day we visited but there... more
The signs make it easy to locate. Ample Free parking is available. The sand is amazing-soft, white, and powdery. They are affected by Red Tide, but this visit I did not find it to be a problem. A great place for a walk, run, or game of football. I love to pack a picnic, a good book, and a bottle... more

I have 2 pictures of poop on the beach and that is just where we were (although 1 is a video... more
I have always enjoyed going to Siesta Key beach. There is endless room to walk, plenty of room to find a spot to set up, lots of parking spaces, and nearby Siesta Village with shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend it if you have children and need lots of room to explore, play, swim, etc. more
I have been to siesta key for many years now and the beach is a nice place to go if you fancy seeing what the gulf water looks like. I have visited many beaches in the world and yes this sand is pure white ,like talcum powder and yes it hurts your eyes its sooo white. The beach water is... more
I have been to many beaches, but none as beautiful as Siesta Key. The white sand is like powder. The water is so clear and refreshing. The sunsets are breathtaking. The beach is so clean. Parking is free. There is no other beach like it. You must experience it for yourself. more
Walking the beach you don;t need to wear shoes as the sand is like walking on a bed of flour. Come here and enjoy the wonderful beach and Mennonite restaurants. more
