We wanted to take a break from all the sightseeing and just relax around in Sarasota. We picked the Gardens and it was a good decision. Kids loved it. We even got scared during the reptile show when a trainer was having a hard time to handle one of his gators. Its tail whacked the trainer's back and You could... More

In 3 or 4 hours, you can walk thru 10 beautiful acres of tropical gardens, watch 3 educational presentations (Birds of Prey, Reptiles, & Entertaining Parrots), see Alligators & Crocodiles, feed the flamingoes, play on the playground & have lunch. The well marked paths are easy to navigate & provides lots of shade in hot weather. Stroller & wheelchair friendly.... More

The kids didn't notice the smell, but we did after paying "a small fortune" to go in. Although the kids enjoyed the bird show, I would never take the kids there if I knew the animals looked so pathetic. We are tourists and I should have stayed with going to the beach...pristine and clean! The grounds are pretty but we... More

I enjoyed feeding the flamingos, turtles and fishes. The pathways lead you to peaceful gardens and interesting animals. I even had my picture taken with a beautiful parrot.A very interesting and enjoyable day! A great place for children of all ages.

We visited the Jungle Gardens this weekend, when our previous plans fell through. The wildlife shows (birds and reptiles) were very informative, and offered the opportunity to encounter the animals up close and personal - in a safe and supervised environment. The weather was very hot (94 degrees) when we visited, but the shaded paths were still pleasant despite the... More

The grounds are well-maintained and the animals are interesting to look at. If you go during the summer, beware that it's hot (high humidity) and this is an outdoor attraction. My kids (12, 14, 15) enjoyed viewing the reptiles and parrots as well as feeding the flamingos. Be sure to buy flamingo food at register and save some for the... More

Sarasota Jungle Gardens was recommended by a friend so we decided to check it out. The Reptile Encounter and Jungle Bird Shows were both well done. The narrators (for lack of a better word) knew the wildlife and taught the audience things we wouldn't have known otherwise. Most of the flamingos were sleeping while we were there but there were... Nice reptile and bird display. They have an educational reptile show with live aligators, snakes, lizards. You can feed the flamingoes which are very friendly. Recommended for the whole family!

What can I tell you about Downtown Sarasota? They treat their dogs better than their people. HOWEVER, a stark exception(s) are The Hyatt Regency Sarasota and Sarasota Jungle Gardens. Honest manager, caring employees, friendly; great businesses! The gardens are beautiful. It really is like walking thorugh a jungle. You can basically walk around the park and be in the shade... So this has some poor reviews. But if you are looking for a relaxing afternoon with some shaded walkways. This is the place. AND you can HAND FEED FLAMINGOS!! Where else are you gonna get to do that?? They have also added a few new animals, since we visited in 2012. We walked up to the new turtle habit area... More
