I visited the Jungle Gardens for the first time as a chaperone for a school field trip...kindergartners! For children of this age it's a great place to take them. Older children may not be so intrigued. It is small, but it was also nice to be able to see everything during our short time there. We were treated to a... More

I loved it! This is a very cute, out of the ordinary place. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and you can see that the animals are well cared for. P.S. you will want to set aside some extra time for the flamingos.

What a wonderful experience for the whole family! My mother (in her 70's) said it was one of the most enjoyable experiences she's had and well worth the money. We spent a couple hours with the flamingos...they were wonderful social and gentle animals. Everyone in our family was able to get a picture with one of the exotic birds (separate... More

We took our 5 year old twins here while on vacation. It was a nice break from the beach. They got to hold baby alligators and snakes. There is a playground they can explore. We finished the day off with a bird show. Overall not bad for something different to do.

Visited on a warm day, but there was lots of shade to keep the sun away. Only saw the bird show, which was about 15minutes long and very entertaining. The highlight of the day was feeding the free-roaming flamingos - what fun! careful with little ones - these birds can get a bit aggressive while feeding, my adult daughter got... More

If you want to be in nature, see some animals, and watch some entertaining animal antics then this is the place for you! Big enough to spend 3-4 hours -- yet not so big that it's overly taxing physically -- you get to experience a wildlife show, a tropical bird show (which is the best),, and a reptile show. Make... For the most part, I enjoyed the trip. It was a little hot out, but better too hot than too cold, right? When we first went through the hunt, we found literally no eggs. We had to go find staff and tell them the eggs were all gone. I was also disappointed to see that when staff was "restocking" the... More

A self-guided tour. The "shows" are a good way for a close up look for kids. Allow for about 2 hours for a leisurely walk through the park. Look for coupons in the books.

We were just killing time on Monday and decided to visit here. We loved it! So many beautiful birds to see and photograph. The flamingos have free roam and I love that! They weren't pinned in and we were able to get up close and personal with them. We purchased some food and got to feed them...so much fun! We... More

The Sarasota Jungle Gardens is one of the few original Florida tourist attractions still hanging on and was started in 1939. It is a low-key combination zoo and botanical garden. None of the cages or displays seem to meet the current standards of a modern zoo, but that is the charm of this place. There is a beautiful winding walkway... More
