We knew that we wanted to see as many productions as possible and had gone on line and bought the tickets, months in advance. Their repertory cast did a fine job with the three plays we saw this January. The Matchmaker, Good People and Both Your Houses were performed. This theatre has wonderful sight lines and is small enough to... More

I've been to probably 7 shows at this theater, and everyone has been fantastic. From great musicals to professional dramas and comedies to FSU's Performing Arts students, every production has been great.

Last night my young daughter and I saw the best production of As You Like It that I've ever seen-- and we have been to London, NYC, Stratford etc. This was the young repertory cast, and a very fresh, inventive take on the play-- absolutely true to the original, language etc but with bits of slapstick, dance, music, even acrobatics... Our first visit was to see South Pacific, and we found it very entertaining. When we arrived, we were told there was a talk by one of the actors about the play and the history it portrays. He did a wonderful job of setting the stage for the play. We were in the balcony and had a great view. The... More

Asolo was beautiful and comfortable - medium/intimate size theatre. Intermission snacks were very reasonable for a theatre. Production of South Pacific was excellent - staging, acting , singing, everything.

We went there to see South Pacific and throughly enjoyed both the venue and the play. The theatre is small but nicely laid out and I suspect that viewing is good from most seats. We were amazed at how they utilized such a small stage area to put on such an amazing production. The acting, singing and choreography were top... More

The Asolo theatre company in Sarasota, aside from receiving high praise from its' patrons, is acclaimed for set development and production by other venues in New York and San Francisco. The cast for South Pacific was fabulous, as were the crew and staff. A real treat, and a special treat in a relatively small city!!!

We just discovered this marvelous theatre & are looking forward to going to all the future productions. South Pacific was awesome! We come from a large Midwest city so our expectations were guarded. We were happily surprised & found the caliber of the productions to be of the same quality as the big city ones. Yea!

OK! This review is on the theatre not South Pacific. Firstly, it was our first time there and our initial impression is that it is SMALL. The acoustics are bad and the sound system needs modernizing...Parking is handy...Not enough rest rooms. Long lines at intermission. With all of the $ that gets pumped into this place, Sarasota people really support... More

It's always a pleasure to attend an event at the Asolo Repertory Theatre - especially a show so well executed as "South Pacific." Several of the recent productions have used a rotating carousel on stage for set changes - making the plays even more fluid. This intimate and comfortable theatre features great sight lines as well - not a bad... More
