Just saw the play, Living on Love. It was hilarious! The characters of the maestro and the diva were excellently portrayed by Karl Hamilton and Rebecca Caine. The other actors that deserve a special mention are Roland Rusinek and Mathew McGee who played the house servants. I would love to see it again! It was that good!

Last evening we saw Living on Love at Asolo Repertory Theatre and the performance was outstanding. Everyone leaving the performance was saying the same things; how entertaining it was; how well performed; how the 6 actors had such great timing, etc. If you have any doubts about attending this performance - forget them and attend. You will be rewarded with... More

For several years we have attended plays at the Asolo Theatre. It is a lovely theatre with great sight lines and excellent acoustics. The plays the repertory group puts on are varied but usually exceptional. The acting and staging are always top notch. We were in town for 3 of the plays this season. I would give two of them... We took dear friends visiting from Key Biscayne up to Sarasota, to dine at The Muse (see review), and then to a show at the Cook Theatre, which is part of the Asolo Complex. The Show, Liar!, is a French comedy from the 1600's, that has been artfully adapted to today's comedic tastes. The show was superb, the theater is... More

We holiday in the Bradenton/Sarasota area every year and always try to visit the Asolo Rep. Last night we went to see their production of All The Way. The subject matter was interesting (even for us non US citizens) and the standard of acting was very high, as always. The building is beautiful, having been imported from Dunfermline in Scotland... We had never been here in my 26 years here. I can just kick myself! What a beautiful venue! The interior is spectacular! It is a small house with about 500 seats. The seats were very comfortable and I don't think there is a bad viewing seat anywhere. We saw West Side Story and it was awesome!!!!! It could have... More

Just saw an very good production of West Side Story, which is my FAVORITE musical. Tough to beat the fantastic movie done of the musical. However, the actors playing Tony and Anita were EXCELLENT. Both had fantastic voices, acted well, & Anita could dance very well, too. Maria had a good voice, but seemed lacking in maturity on the stage... More

What a beautiful theater! The performers were terrific...VERY PROFESSIONAL and entertaining. Location is easy to find and close to hotels or restaurants if you're visiting from out of town. Will definitely keep this place in mind for another show. DRAWBACK is we sat upstairs and the very front row seats are not view friendly so go up a row or... More
