One opera is performed in November and the four work Winter Opera Festival runs in February and March. The operas are a mixture of favorites and rarely heard gems. All performances have simultaneous English translations above the stage and opera goers are encouraged to dress as they feel comfortable: suits and ties mix with khaki and jeans. « less

went a few years ago and will return next season. Extraordinary performance of Lakme, with a Cuban soprano who may be the next Lilly Pons. Other performances also v. good. except Don Giovanni with two sopranos who sounded like goosed hens. But, all in all, great music in a fine thestre in a lovely little city. more
