The day we got there our 7 year old cat snuck out of our RV. We told EVERYONE there that he was missing. The people in the front where you come in HEARD that there was a cat missing. When a women brought in a cat she had found, instead of driving around and finding the owners...they kept our cat... More

We visited Myakka River State Park in late July and stayed for several hours. It was very hot, and we probably should have arrived earlier to see more wildlife, particularly birds. That being said, our group of four enjoyed the Bird Walk, the airboat ride, and the canopy walk. The canopy walk includes an observation tower that "towers" above the... More

Myakka Park is a nice place to visit for everyone. You can rent bikes or canoes, hike the nature trails or take the Gator Gal air boat. They have a nice snack bar and gift shop (and clean bathrooms). One of the nature trails takes you to a canopy walk where you go over a swinging bridge and climb above... More

An interesting day trip from the Tampa Bay area. The boat trip to see the alligators and other wildlife is Wonderful. The walking trails are very nice, including the "canopy" boardwalk. Highly recommend!

Board the Gator Gal paddlewheeler for a hour's ride on the lake among many alligators and wild birds. Hike the short trail to the Canopy Walk a hundred plus feet up in the treetops for great views and the suspension boardwalk sensation. The gift shop is elevated on two stories with a porch overlooking beautiful scenery of the lake with... More

Great place for family in the outdoors. Safe but you get to see lots of gators and other wildlife. Boating, hiking and camping. Not much else in the area but that is ok as you can spend an entire day or longer here and be content. A definite Sarasota stop.

My friends and I did this trip because we wanted to see alligators in the wild and boy did this trip not disappoint! We saw them everywhere...on the banks, in the water. There were some also very neat birds that our guide pointed out as well. I would recommend getting a seat up front, near the driver, as you get... More

I have camped at Myakka , biked at Myakka, walked at Myakka. I especially liked the "canopy walk" ,bring a camera and get some shots from up above the tree line. Biking in Myakka is nice..the roads are wide and there are plenty of miles to ride. Camping was great. The site was a nice size, but the overall size... More
