Who needs Destin? This is much more mellow and laid back. There are so many high end restaurants on this side of the beach that you may never try them all. We come here all the time and prefer it to Destin hands down. Destin is packed with cars and almost impossible to park. We have parking problems on this... More

The sand and water are the best. Have traveled to the Panhandle many times, but always seem to enjoy these beaches the most. You can tell that everyone takes pride in how clean well kept the beaches are. Parking was close by and a short walk to get to the beach. Best time to come is after Labor Day, you... More

My husband and I won a trip to Watersound and discovered our new favorite beach. Santa Rosa Beach is just perfect! Destin beaches used to be our favorite, until we came here! The sand dunes are amazing and water is gorgeous! We had so much fun snorkeling, relaxing, and spending time with friends. Can't wait to go back!

I have heard people compare sand to powder sugar but a Santa Rosa Beach its actually as if you are taking you vacation on top of a large powdered donut. It just so darn soft that you want to get down on your stomach and roll around like a dog trying to earn a treat from its owner. The view... More

We traveled to Santa Rosa in mid-August for a family vacation. The ocean was beautiful! White sand, clear water, no jelly fish or seaweed that I could see. The beach was not overly crowded at this time of year, loved that it was private too. Stayed at Adagio and would go back for sure!

I've been visiting the Beaches of South Walton (Seaside, fl, Watercolors Fl) since the 80s. I've been to many beach destinations around the world and still crave this area the most. The white sand beaches and emerald green waters are intoxicating and make you want to stay forever.

Most of the restaurants around Santa Rosa Beach are really good. Grayson's Bar and Grill is my favorite, because of the food, hip-laid back crowd, and live music.

What a beautiful beach! Less crowded, cleaner, more emerald color!, lifeguard on site, restrooms, easy and short access. Not sure if you can rent umbrellas and chairs because it looked to me they belonged to buildings nearby (brought my own). Short driving from Destin, easy to find. If you are looking for a less crowded atmosphere and for multiples umbrellas... More
