Convenient mid-island location directly on Periwinkle Place. Grounds are pristine. We toured 2 art shows and viewed the outdoor sculptures. Bought a few pieces of jewelry - hand made and affordable! Staff is very friendly and informative. There is a theater on the property with many types of shows. Location of Sunday morning farmer's market - best ever!

We went to a concert at Big Arts and it was nice because it is a small venue and you could see well and hear well regardless of where you sat. The seating is not pre assigned. During the intermission they had free wine and cookies and walking around the lovely grounds at night was a plus. I would go... More

We enjoyed several activities presented by BIG ARTS on a trip to Sanibel. We attended a free jazz concert on a Sunday afternoon (bring your own chair if you have one). The music was good and the atmosphere was friendly and fun. We also toured an exhibit in the gallery and purchased tickets for plays at the theatre. Check to... More

I was very anxious to see the art galleries here, but was disappointed when I got there. While this is the main gallery on the island, there wasn't much too it. The facility provides an outlet for performing arts as well as visual arts, and their line-up for performing artists was impressive. Unfortunately, not of them were appearing during our... More

Who would expect a cultural center in vacationland. Apparently the local folk really appreciate listening and learning. We attended a movie that was something out of the arts theater venue. It was a full house and the crow was mostly locals.

We went to a jazz concert at this lovely venue and thoroughly enjoyed the program. The people were friendly and other members of the audience were happy to mingle and chat. It was nice vacation entertainment.

We saw some very unique and interesting art. Florida has some great artists. We like the glass and metal art works.

Hidden behind Periwinkle Way you have a row of some of the best services Sanibel provides. Serices which add up to an outstanding community whether you live on Sanibel or visit as a tourist. There is the library (possibly the best in the world), the police station and city hall, the historic village of old island houses and, of course... More

I just found Big Arts and it will forever change the way that I plan my Sanibel vacations! The variety of offerings from plays, to musicals, live concerts-- this time jazz... And art CLASSES! How fun is that!! I will be planning to take a class while there for sure and looking to see if there are any plays or... More

We're always amazed at the great international talent brought to Big Arts. We've heard the pianist Joyce Yang up close, as an example. The classes are well done. Also enjoyable are the foreign film nights.
