We chartered a boat with fishing guide at Tarpon Bay Explorers our first day on Sanibel. 3 Hours was almost not enough and Brie (our guide) made sure we reeled in a dozen fish (my wife, the angler caught nine!) While she was catching and releasing, a dolphin circled our boat catching his own lunch in Tarpon Bay. I, the... more

Great tours, great guides. Did the kayak tour with the kids, our guide Dave was wonderful. Did the nature tour, saw dolphin and manatees. Also touch tank kids loved. Folks here very knowledgable and care about the environment. You'll learn something and have fun. You can also just rent kayaks here on your own. My husband brought his rod down... more

We had a wonderful experience, great guides on our sunset cruise (best time to see the wildlife settling in for the eve). We saw dolphins and a manatee close up. Bring your camera and your bug spray and be sure to tip the staff. Briean (sp?) was an interesting and charming guide. (and put on some bug spray) more

We took the 1:30PM Boat Tour, and the boat ride takes about an hour. It was excellent. We explored on the touch tank first for aprox. 1/2 hr, and it was a unforgettable experience for our children. Our guide was very friendly, and he really knew what he was talking about. Very educational tour. He has the answer for any... more

Best place to relax. I love the fishing, but go in the morning, it's cooler and you can relax better. I love the kayaking, you can either go by your self or go as a group which is like a tour "education", as I like say program. Prices are reasonable, and if you think it may be pricey it's totally... more

We did the 10:30 guided tour of the mangrove trail. It was fabulous. The scenery and beautiful birds were amazing. Cannot recommend it enough. Excellent for any level of skill including first timers. Guide was friendly and helpful and pointed out interesting wildlife along the way. At $30 per person, it is an excellent value, plus you get to keep... more

My family recently spent a week on Sanibel. Our two favorite things were the beaches and Tarpon Bay. My kids really enjoyed the tour boat. We saw dolphins and manatees! The next day my husband and I got a sitter for the kids and we went on the guided kayak tour. What a treat- paddling through the mangrove forest and... more

If you rent a kayak or canoe from Tarpon Bay Explorers on Sanibel Island, make sure you check back in the office once you've returned. The staff tends to neglect to tell you to do that, and if you don't they'll tack on what amounts to a 50% penalty for a two-hour rental. A beautiful kayak experience turned nasty when... more
