What an interesting and very informative guided tour we had yesterday at the Moorings with Anita. We were looking for a different approach to the landscaping methods that are practiced in our Boardwalk Caper development. Many wonderful combination of plants are used in this development that have spiked our interest. Anita took time to answer our questions and made us... More

We came to this botanical gardens with high expectations. We were VERY disappointed. The gardens were nothing more than a fair job of landscaping on a condominium project...and seemed like a ruse to get you to come visit their for rent/for sale complex. This should NEVER have been billed as a separate attraction. I marked down an hour for a... More

This is really very nice landscaping next to condominiums and not a botanical garden. I went with my boyfriend and we were expecting something along the lines of the Missouri botanical gardens or bellingrath gardens in Alabama but this is not the case. We still enjoyed the walk around with signs indicating different plant and fish species as well as... More

Sanibel Moorings is a resort that is very nicely landscaped. The landscaping has a map and the plants are tagged, like at a botanical garden. This would be a great place to stay if you are interested in plants. They have Guest tours for those who stay there, public tours for $5 per person, and a self guided tour for... More

we did expect something different; although they clearly qualify as a botanical garden, you definitely felt like you were walking around someone else condo complex; it was beautiful but we chose to walk around for about 10 minutes and then left;

A very nice stroll throught the gardens, but I think we were there too late in the season. Most of the blooms were already gone. Would be beautiful at the right time of year.

This was just the landscaping around a resort, with labels for some of the plants. If you go to the office, they will charge you $5 and give you a map.

We were surprised to find that this is actually a private condo development. Many of the plantings are very close to personal patios, decks, and such. Nonetheless, I found this garden delightful. We missed the guided tour, but when we paid the $5 parking fee, we received a map and guide to the plantings, as well as a path to... More
