I had no idea how much our friends had to pay for our foursome until after play...dinner was on us of course. This course has to be managed and thoughtfully played. Hint:, the three wood off the tee is an option high handicappers should consider. There are a lot if distractions from; animal life to many birds and it is... More

Took my wife back to The Dunes after 10 years. It was the first course she played and wanted to return to see if she could slay the dragon. She did, and the intimidating golf course she remembered is not as tough as she thought. Water is in play on every hole, but landing areas are ample enough to stay... More

Played The Dunes three times this year. While it's not a long course, it's very tight with great greens. The wind will make every shot a challenge, but the views are outstanding. The Dunes is now affiliated with The Inns of Sanibel, so you can play for $50 if you are staying at one of the Inns.

We were two public-golf-course hackers without clubs or golf shoes looking for a diversion from our Red Sox spring training trip. So from the moment I saw the web site for the Dunes I was apprehensive that we wouldn't be their type of people. That turned out not to be the case at all. Our call was answered by a... More

Challenging short course maxing out at 5600 yards. Water in play on all 18 holes sometimes twice on a hole. The course has plenty of area to play your shot if you can block the water intimidation from your psyche. Gaters in the ponds and on the shores.

Course was much as I remember from last year. Under new management, course was in good shape but Greens were splotchy indicating repairs in progress. Tee system is changed and somewhat confusing. Staff was friendly but not giving you the key to the cart until just before you are called to the Tee seems a bit juvenile. With water on... More

I have been playing this course for 5 years during the weeks of Christmas. Its was always a challenge but my wife and i have grown to love. it.The first year we went we nearly ran out of balls by the turn and mentioned to the pro shop the courses name should be changed to "The Lakes" However, we learned... The course was in good shape. The greens were very nice. It is a short course. 5,600 yards from the back tees par 70, but tough as evidenced by the 128 slope.

We had so much fun playing at the Dunes that we played twice during our visit to Sanibel. The course was challenging with all the water - but not very long - so it was perfect for both of us. We saw so many beautiful birds and so much wildlife on the course - which made it even better. Lots... More

Everyone at The Dunes is so friendly and helpful. In the past, we have experienced some "Grumpiness", but not now. Love this golf course. So beautiful, but challenging. Free drop if your ball lands too close to one of the alligators!
