Start your stay on Sanibel or Captiva by stopping at the Visitor Center. It is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. There is always a friendly staff member or volunteer to help you plan your activities. If you are looking for accommodations, they can work with you to get the best place to stay..

Tons of literature on anything you need and if you're a "foodie" you can pick up local menus from most restaurants on the island. The local newspaper, Island Sun, will feature specials and deals on the island.
We visited the center twice during our stay and received very good advices on where to eat and things to do.
