We could have stayed for hours. This store has a lot to offer. Everything is sorted into categories which makes searching a lot easier. We were on our honeymoon and found trinkets from where we grew up. The women working was extremely friendly and willing talk to us for a few minutes about where we came from and what we... More

I found the most lovely antique, hand-painted door knobs there. Two matching sets! Bill (and I apologize if I've gotten your name wrong!) could tell that I was truly in love with them and would give them a loving home. Then, he helped me find a salt & pepper shaker set that were marked "Florida." I couldn't leave without purchasing... More

A truly nice place. I have been to lots of shops and this was one of the most organized and has a wide variety of items for sale. Great postcard collection which has been sorted out by state and category. Prices were as I expected. Staff was nice and not rude as reported in prior posts.

I don't know much about antiques but this store is full of them. It was well organized into categories to make searching easier. My son found the couple things he was seeking at reasonable prices. Had to go back a second time for the rest of my adult kids!

Islander Trading Post is the coolest antique shop I've ever been to. They have an enormous collection of items. Military, Boy Scouts, music, books, advertising, medical, etc. You name it they have it. At times it's a little overwhelming and hard to take it all in. I've seen reviewers saying the staff is unpleasant, but I asked the guy there... More

We visited both shops, one at the end of Periwinkle and one on the other end of Periwinkle. They have a large variety of "stuff". The prices was a bit high but remember we are on a Private Island. If you want it bad enough you'll take it home. Again I overheated and got sick and had to run across... More

The good? Awesome inventory, very organized, lots to look at. The bad? Way, way over priced. I've been picking before reality TV & eBay ruined everything. I collect quite a bit of stuff and am very knowledgable when it comes to old advertising, music, toys, etc. I can find this stuff on a weekly basis for 90% less then what they... More

I have visited the Islander Trading post every summer for several years and have always made one clear and consistent observation: the owners and sales clerks are not friendly and rarely acknowledge your existence. Prices are way too high. This is a great place to look around but do not expect to find a bargain.
