The lighthouse is a interesting stop on the island and worth the visit. When you are done go for a walk on the beach and pick up some sand dollars and other interesting shells.

An interesting lighthouse, too bad the buildings are closed. It would make a great museum inside. The lighthouse area has great bathrooms, brand new actually, quite a bit of beach parking at $3 per hour, and the area is right next to the pier where there are no amusement rides, only fishing and people out for a stroll. The beach... More

Easily accessible for exterior pictures but no interior access. The lighthouse sits at the tip of Sanibel island. The surrounding beach area is very nice. Dolphins are spotted frequently feeding and cruising between the Island and the mainland. Beach has interesting mix of trees and vegetation to add to the beauty of the area.

Beach well combed so don't expect too many souvenirs but it is wide and flat, white sanndy beach with lots of wading opportunity. Baby conchs cruising everywhere (leave them alone, taking them is prohibited). Quiet in mid morning. Left before noon and perhaps before peak hours for beach-goers.

Interesting lighthouse ... totally metal construction. This is also a great location for bird watching and photographing.

Its nice to visit the lighthouse and learn about the island . Its not the most photogenic lighthouse because it doesnt sit at waters edge but it is a cool place to walk and learn about the area and the wildlife and sealife as well.

My 1st time here - I have been to Sanibel many times, this was my 1st time to the LIghthouse. I recommend paying to park. Take your time, enjoy the views of the mainland. Go shelling, check out the trees amongst the beach. Just sit back and enjoy the view!! The Lighthouse is really cool, great photo op. You cant... More

Nothing to see except the lighthouse and read a sign. This beach around the lighthouse and fishing pier is so extremely dirty. Every time we go to the Island we visit there only to hunt for sea pearls on the other side of the fishing pier. I still after all these yeas remains an unattractive area.

The beach was beautiful and the water not very rough. However, when I excitedly began picking up all those large Conch-like shells, I was disappointed to find a little creature still alive and at home in each one.

we were so excited to visit Sanibel for the shelling but were very disappointed. Don't visit here thinking your going to find numerous varieties or anything. just basic shells. The beach is great and this is where we saw dolphins swimming just feet from the beach. Lighthouse and local history is good. Parking is a little crazy, after paying 6... More
