Day at the beach

Shell beach, not soft sand. Found several nice small shells. Nothing bigger than thumb near low tide. Found a live sand dollar and put him back. Arrived at 9:30 on a Thursday... read more

This was a hard one to rate. We love lighthouses. We love exploring them, exploring around them, climbing up them, learning about the history, etc. This particular lighthouse, from what we were told on the island, is still a functioning lighthouse. While we were <finally> able to find it (lots of twisty turny roads leading all different ways without a... More

After paying $6 to get on the island & then driving around the parking lot (full of huge pot holes) several times, waiting for a space to become available, we paid 3$ an hour to park. The beach was gunky, full of odd vegetation washed up that you had to wade thru to go into the water. The beach was... More

We were expecting to be able to climb the lighthouse or do something while we were there. But instead, all we could do was look at it and read the no trespassing signs. The beach was nice but crowded.

We walked along the beach and took a little detour to the lighthouse. It wasn't anything special but it was a nice addition to our walk along the beach.

not much to see here, I was expecting it to be out in the water a bit more, but it was just kind of sitting there in the middle of the land so I did not get the pictures I had wanted to chronicle my visit there. Bit of a disappointment after I drove quite a distance to photograph it.

Pretty but not terrific. Not incredibly easy to get to and if memory serves me right, you had to pay to park.

This is a beautiful spot. I was so impressed about the level of maintenance on this island! Everything is so clean! Nice flat beach here - ideal for families with small children! Only disappointment was that the light keepers cottage was under renovation so we couldn't go inside - a good reason to return in the future!

Not much here but the Lighthouse. The road to the attraction was TERRIBLE. Pot holes that need to get fixed before we venture down there again.

If you love to travel, viewing light houses as you go, then this one is unique. If you are into steampunk you might also like this light house. It is from the late 1800s and has a metal bottom structure almost more like a water tower. You look at it from the outside--there is not way to go into it.... More

Shell beach, not soft sand. Found several nice small shells. Nothing bigger than thumb near low tide. Found a live sand dollar and put him back. Arrived at 9:30 on a Thursday. People scouting our parking spot when we left. $1 for 20 minutes. Umbrellas on the beach were a relief from sun. Would probably park on causeway next time... More
