I've been to the lighthouse at several different times of the year and at low and high tide. It's always a beautiful time, and I love the old lighthouse. If you hit it right you can catch the setting sun right behind the glass light of the lighthouse, awesome picture.

One can walk along the beach to the lighthouse or drive to a nearby parking lot or ride a bike to the spot. The lighthouse is close to the water and is also near a beautiful stand of near-petrified tree stumps standing on edge. Plus it is near the toilet facilities. The lighthouse itself is a simple metal structure that... More

We enjoyed a nice breakfast here. I ordered the coconut French toast which was very good. I love anything coconut and this did not disappoint. It seems like this restaurant is very busy for breakfast so be prepared to wait a few minutes. The service was very quick and our waitress was very friendly. Enjoyed the experience.

Have been to this lighthouse many, many times and it always fascinates us. It's not the type of lighthouse you normally see. Wish we could live in the lightkeeper houses at the base! The beach is great for shelling, larger shells than further around the corner from the fishing pier. Also fun to watch the fisherman and there are almost... More

This is an old Florida style metal legged lighthouse with a nice little beach that stretches quite a ways.. Often you will see shore birds that will attract your attention or just watch the gentle waves to discharge the stress.

Making your way over the bridge to the Island is such a pretty site. Paid parking was available, and the park is easy to navigate. We strolled along the beach to the lighthouse, gathering beautiful seashells that are plentiful along the shore. The Lighthouse is very different from what we have in the Northeast and reminded us a little of... More

It is a great place to go at sunset or sunrise. Lots of sand and good shells as well. A good place to see Dolphins and other fish on the beach.

The primary message upon arriving at the lighthouse was "do not park here." There is a large open area close to the lighthouse and surrounding buildings (all fenced-in) with numerous signs making sure you get the message. However, since there is nothing more to do than to look at the lighthouse, there is no need to park. We decided to... More

Sanibel lighthouse is a metal lighthouse that is not very attractive. The bathrooms with showers are convenient but the beach area is small. We did see some nice birds though. Snowy egret and brown pelicans like the area. There are a lot of shells but they are all the same white shell. I actually found more variety and prettier shells... More
