We have seen many, many lighthouses and this was very nice. The beach is beautiful. Our only disappointment would be that we could not take a tour inside or up to the top. More

We love this beach especially when the tide changes as the dolphins chase the fish towards the beach by slapping their tails in the water which is awesome and a privilege to see! We also love the walk through the overhanging trees to the pier where the birds circle the fishermen looking for tidbits or to steal a whole fish!... More

Be sure to take in the lighthouse from various vantage points. Osprey and lighthouse viewing are great from the fishing pier. More

The lighthouse is an iconic point on the island, and a must-see while visiting. We stopped by while on a long bike ride around the island. It's very interesting to see and read up on the history on the placard out front. And it is operational, so be sure to check it out when crossing the causeway at night! More

The Sanibel Lighthouse was different from your standard lighthouse, as it was erected on metal pipes. As a "lighthouse lover" it was fun to see one a little different than all the rest! A must-see!!! More

Enjoyed seeing the lighthouse, but sad that you have to pay to park to see it! More

Being from the Rocky Mountain West I expected a more "traditional" lighthouse. It was not that. However, walking around and seeing the bird life made the visit there worthwhile. More

Day two of our vacation, my husband I ventured down to the Sanibel Island Lighthouse & beach. We were pleased to see such a large parking lot, but had difficulty with the parking machine not excepting credit card payment. The line was long, and in frustration, my husband had to use a $5.00 bill to pay since he had nothing... More
