This was our first visit to Sanibel. I was a little disappointed at the lack of parking for just a day trip. We took pictures at the lighthouse, by just pulling in and stopping. (I don't think this is what we were supposed to do, but no one fussed at us)

I would skip it. To my knowledge you can't tour the lighthouse so no reason to pay to visit. Too much other free stuff to do.

This was our first beach to visit on Sanibel Island. I liked that it did not drop off in the deep until you were pretty far out. As we did not wear bathing suits, we could roll up our capris and wade further out into the water w/o it being up to our knees. It is a short walk to... More

The light house itself is not much to see but the bike ride to it was pleasant. We went out on the pier, read the plaque, and walked the beach. That was about it for this location.

Really didn't take much time to see it. You can't do inside of it. Nice walk along the beach where you can easily see Fort Myers

The lighthouse isn't what I expected. It was all metal and has No door at the bottom, but it is a lighthouse with a spectacular view of the ocean and beach.

We visited the lighthouse on an overcast day during our week long trip. I did not have high expectations for this location based on sent reviews I have read bit I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived there. It was definitely a picture spot, we took some really beautiful shots. The shelling there that day was excellent. We were planning... More

The beach on the tip of Sanibel island was lovely. A short walk from the car to the beach. Lots of shells. The day we were there the current was strong so swimming was difficult but the water was warm and inviting. A definite must see in Sanibel.

Amazing. A MUST do when in the area. I swam with the dolphins (within 50 feet) in the wild off the beach near lighthouse. It was an amazing and magnificent experience. Quiet. Not crowed. Relaxing. Lots of great shells there also. Better then ft myers public beach. Love love love this place!!!!!!!!

We went to the beach and park after an interesting drive around Captiva and Sanibel islands - some great houses to look at and interesting "small" shops on Sanibel. We looked at a number of the beaches on both islands but the Lighthouse seemed to be the most scenic of the beaches. This is a true family beach, with good... More
