We escaped the heat here one day and really enjoyed this small museum. The movies were good too, very informative. The power went out when we were there and they gave us free passes to return and we did! more

Very informative and educational. Manned by volunteers, who know their shells, and all about them. Very interesting to see what can be found locally, and around the world. Also the home of the worlds largets Horse Conch shell.. Amazing! more

I don't know why anyone who visits Sanibel would want to miss this museum. The shells are beautiful; it shows shells from all over the world. And don't miss the free videos that are shown at intervals throughout the day. more

We had a great trip to Sanibel. However, the shell museum was the least interesting attraction. There are few exhibits. I found more interesting local shells, fossils, and other artifacts at "Neptunes Treasures" off Periwinkle. If you roll your eyes at the thought of a shell museum you'll be pleasantly surprised at this attraction.
