This zoo is located just across the street from Lake Monroe on the border of Seminole and Volusia Counties. The entrance attracts you right away with a long drive showing a zip line, picnic areas, and then the merry-go-round at the entrance of the zoo is the first of many smiles on the faces of the children. The animals are... More

Nice alternative to the bigger parks. We returned from a 5 day Disney Dream cruise (awesome, btw) and had an extra day to kill in Florida. Originally we were going to go to MK but since the 5 and 3 year olds were pretty much spent, we looked for a place away from big crowds. We were pleasantly surprised at... More

We had no trouble finding this zoo; easy-to-follow signs if you don't use an i-phone. Cute carousel at the entrance which the toddler loved! Adults appreciated the hands-on areas throughout the zoo; a staff member sat with an animal and answered questions or posed for pictures. Lots of shaded walkways made the day quite comfortable.

Thanks for visiting the Zoo! We're glad you were able to find us easily. Being close to the interstate is a great thing for out of town visitors! The staff member you are referring to was most likely a docent. Docents are highly trained volunteers and we couldn't operate without them. They love the animals, the Zoo, and our guests!... More

Overall we enjoyed our visit to the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford. The adult admission price is $15. I don't recall the kids' price. There are tons of kiddie activities, especially for little ones. There's a merry-go-round, a kiddie train and a splash park. The bird collection features bald eagles and owls, as well as some exotic species such as... More

Thank you for visiting the Zoo! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit and found our Massey Insect Zoo inside the Wayne Densch Discovery Center. The building is not just for kids, there is actually a large meeting room in there, but we do have some fun kids activities to enjoy while you cool off in the air conditioning.... More

We have been to MANY zoos so I may have been expecting too much of this small zoo. The employees were very nice and it was relatively clean, however we were done in a little over an hour. For the price of $15 each I guess we were thinking there would be a little more to see. There were a... More

Thank you for visiting the Zoo! You are correct, we are a smaller Zoo than some others across the country but we also keep our prices low to match the amount of time it takes to see our Zoo. Most visitors find they spend 2-3 hours to take in everything the Zoo has to offer, more if they take in... More

We took out 4 year old grandson to the zoo. There weren't too many animals, but lots of birds in cages. Our grandson loved the playground and the splash park. I would have liked to have seen more animals. We also did the train ride. That would have been nicer if it were longer and through the park, kind of... More

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to write a review of our Zoo. We're sorry to hear you didn't see as many animals as you would have liked. It is true we have some beautiful birds, but we also have plenty of other animals like different kinds of monkeys, several large cats, some incredible reptiles, river otters, and... More

This place has so much to offer. They have a good assortment of animals, great facilities, a zoom line and a splash park. They also have many educational programs you can particpate in. Local families should get the annual passes and take advantage of this zoo. Remember, for best animal viewing, early morning activity is busy with the animals.... very... More

This is a very nice zoo, it has a lot of animals you and the family would enjoy. Also they have a area where some of the animals have shows for you to enjoy. The staff are friendly and assist to help you understand different animals and where they come from. They are so cute bring your camera.

This zoo is full of unique animals that you may never see at any other zoo. It has everything from greater horned rhinos to clouded leopards. Plus, they have a special staff to take out animals that the guests get to interact with such as snakes and parrots. They also have a beautiful splash park for hot days, a new... More

A lovely family day out, we wanted something quieter than the normal parks and what we had was a great day, my daughter who is 2years 10months was able to walk around freely and see the animals. She took the opportunity to touch a snake and pigmy hedgehog and the young staff who were handling the animals were very patient... More

Thank you for your review! We love hearing stories about children enjoying the Zoo. Without zoos, kids would never get the opportunity to see many of these animals up close.
