This zoo was a little small, considering it's proximity to Orlando. There are not as many exhibits as I was expecting. The zoo is large with long wooden walkways, but it is small in the way that there are not many animals. There was an amphibian room, which had a wide variety of snakes and lizards. There is a large... More

Before getting into my review, I must say I am a local, and therefore by default love the Sanford zoo. The Sanford zoo has been upgrading in some different areas over the last few years - splash pad, railroad ride, rope/zip-line, and I believe paint balling is also available. This zoo has all the typical animals - monkeys, alligators, etc..etc..... More

We went here on vacation and it's a very nice zoo. It's cheaper than most attractions in the area. I like that the animals have large and nice habitats plus there are plenty of them to see. The splash area for kids is nice too and is no extra charge. We spent about 4 hours looking at everything and we... More

We've been to many zoos and were very disappointed due to the fact the cost was too much for a basic zoo with very few animals. Also I'm a travel agent with proper ID and was denied a travel agent rate because I didn't have business card to supply staff.

A really nice, clean, well kept zoo and botanical garden, You walk the entire route on a beautiful boardwalk. Plenty of beautiful shade trees to keep you out of the sun. If you go in the early morning many of the animals are active. Everyone of the staff we saw said hello and were so nice to us all. You... More

It's not very big but it is nice, clean and not very expensive. It doesn't take a long time to get through a couple of hours top they are going to open a new Giraffe exhibit soon and it looks like that will be great fun. They have extra things you can do while you're there, you can ride a... More

Thank you so much for visiting the Zoo! We have indeed opened the Giraffe exhibit where you can feed Rafiki and Emba, our giraffes. And, we have another new show "Venom!" - it's a great presentation on our venomous snake collection. If you haven't already been back out, we hope to see you again soon. More

Went here with my wife, her brother and his daughter. Nice drive into the park and looked like it was going to be a great day out. It's a nice place but small and even going at a snail's pace, we were done in under 2 hours. As others have said, some of the cages are small and don't leave... More

Thank you so much for visiting and reviewing our Zoo! It is true, we are smaller than other facilities in the country but that can be a good thing, especially if you are visiting with small children. We agree that the Central Florida summer can be a little warm (or rainy) but do hope you will visit again and check... More

We went to the Zoo later in the morning. The cost was very reasonable (with veteran, etc discount) & parking was free. We paid $ 2 each for the train ride which was enjoyable. While there we went to the bird show which was interesting & enjoyable. Some of the animals were sleeping. It isn't a big zoo, but it... More

Being a native from Sanford we have watched this zoo grow up. Since it relies on donations, it is not a fancy place but they take good care of the animals and they have great special events. On top of that they have a cute train, carousel and picnic area. The one thing I would say is that make sure... More

Hello Shelly0723, thank you for your wonderful review. We appreciate all of our neighbors in Sanford! If you haven't been out since you reviewed us (as a small zoo, we all wear many hats and I'm a little behind checking out our reviews!) we hope you will do so soon.
