As far as a zoo goes,it's nice. But, it's built in a swamp and as a result the humidity during the summer is almost unbearable.
When we moved to the Sanford area we decided to get a year pass to the zoo. Big disapointment. The Zoo really did not have a lot of animals there but the charged prices like they are Disney, I guess they have to compete with whats around them. THey also have a lot of stuff that cost extra. You have... More
We enjoy zoos, especially zoos that do a good job with their animals. This zoo has a beautiful botanical setting, a nice variety of animals, great enclosures, good signage, from which the visitor can learn a lot, also an exceptional reptile house. There are a lot of extras for children to enjoy: a train ride, a splash area, a playground,... More
This is a very nice zoo, great for family. Nice to get yearly pass. It is very clean, staff very nice. Now a small water park for kids after viewing the animals. Now giraffes which you can feed. Outside zip line for adults and kids, and more, picnic tables and more....
Spent an afternoon at this zoo and thoroughly enjoyed it! You can take a leisurely stroll through the lush trees and gardens and see all the exhibits in one afternoon. If you bring kids to enjoy the zip lines, and elevated catwalks of various types through the trees it will take the full day to do everything. Most enjoyable exhibit... More
We just visited the Central Fl Zoo and Botanical Gardens. We are two seniors with our grandchildren, 4 and 16 months. We had read some of the reviews and was a bit unsure but decided to take a drive from Orlando. We were so glad we did. It is a small zoo with lovely greens and gardens. The animals seemed... More
My children enjoyed the zoo, learning about the animals and playing in the water area. The restrooms were filthy, smelly and very small.
This zoo is clean. It is small, but adding exhibits all the time. Animals are treated well and, for the most part, have natural looking enclosures. Just before going into the zoo, there are ziplines for all ages, and lots of activities for younger children. These don't require admission into the zoo. Not a lot of choices for food, but... More
Nice zoo The best part is the little train that you can purchase tickets for to ride around the zoo. I loved the splash pad-perfect for hot days. There was not much staff on hand to explain or answer any animal related questions. I'd go back but only if I would be guaranteed that workers would be available Dirty restrooms... More
We do a lot of traveling, and when my husband won tickets for the zoomair at a charity auction I was thrilled, ive always wanted to go to central florida zoo! The zoomair was good I was able to walk under and with my daughter as she went through both courses! We then proceeded to the zoo. It is a... More
