I never knew that John Williams wrote the background music to so many of the movies I have loved. Superman, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, E.T., Hook and more. This Orchestra is one of this country's best and if you are in the area you can find them at the Straz in Tampa on Friday's, the Mahaffey... More

I went for the Blue Ocean Film Festival. They showed a film about whales & the FL Orchestra provided background music. It was fabulous! I had never been to the Mahaffey Theater & thought the acoustics were great. My seat was in the balcony & it was just great. Luckily, I sat next to some music lovers & we had... More

We went to a concert including the New World Symphony played by the Florida Orchestra on Saturday night and were blown away by the program. We have heard orchestras in many cities and countries, and I would rank The Florida Orchestra as pretty amazing for its size. They play their hearts out and they got a standing ovation and several... Although they have just chosen a new Music Director, the Florida Orchestra will certainly continue there tradition of providing a cosmopolitan mix of traditional, modern, and avant garde new compositions. The Orchestra consists of excellent well seasoned musicians and always puts on a well appreciated show.

What a treasure to have an incredible group of musicians in our Tampa Bay area! I have followed them for a number of years and have only seen improvements in quality, programs and price ranges! my wife and I went to our first Orchestra here and we really enjoyed it. The music was impressive, explosive, and mesmerizing. drinks are a little over priced but that was to be expected.

This gent (he may be the adjunct conductor or temp), not sure...But he was great, he explained to the crowd of the "annual free concert in the park" how the music came about , who wrote it , and why!!! everyone laughed a bit and learned about the piece before it was played. Great fun, wine and cheese and great... More

We have been traveling, so haven't been able to go for quite a while; however, we love the pops and some of the special series that they have. The free concert in Straub park with fireworks is always a special treat. It's worth the visit.
