Weedon Island Preserve is a park that has many nice facilities. Movies about the history, boardwqalk, viewing towers are all just part of the place. There are nature trails to walk where you an get sandy feet if you wish. The boardwalk and interptive center is wheel chair freindly. Picnic spots are nice and plentiful. Dont forget the canoe trails.... more

We had a family outing in the Weedon Island preserve and had a great time. Just past the Natural History Center on the other side of the road, Sweetwater Kayaks are renting kayaks for getting out on the water amongst the mangroves.
