We paid 34 dollars to go there with my Grandchildren 8 and 9 years old. Half the things that were near their age did not work and they should have told us that is for younger kids when they asked their age. What a rip off for adults just sitting there. more

We moved to the St. Pete area in Aug. 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina. Great Explorations was recommended and so we went. We were not impressed, but a year later we went back to see the place totally transformed! There was a new play area for toddlers on the left side of the museum that he adored. We started exploring... more

My 5 year-old grandson loved the museum. Lots of things to explore and areas to play. Especially liked the presentation on lizards and spiders. They had a bearded dragon. Mikey really liked the lizards. We are going back today. He liked Great Explorations much better than MOSI. Not to mention that adults like the 9.00 price instead of the 20.00... more

My son and I have been going to this museum since he was 2 and he's now 5. He still enjoys it and finds something new and exciting each visit. In the old "world's largest souviner shop" located at Sunken Gardens there is now a place to go on either a hot or rainy day both of which there are... more

our St Pete friends promised my 3 yr old a trip to Great Explorations last year, but we arrived too late in the day. So, we were very excited to finally be able to go. I felt so bad for our friends. They paid for 4 adults and 1 child - a pretty hefty admission. The exhibits they have had... more

While visiting the museum, an employee made sexual comments to my young son!! I made a formal complaint and it has been 3 weeks and the man that made the comments is still working there!! If you go there, stay right with your children!! We will never go back! more

We took our 9-year old and 6-year old to Great Explorations for a fun afternoon---it was somewhat disappointing since a few of the interactive exhibits did not seem to work properly (which defeats the whole purpose of "exploring" don't you think?). It was also very crowded (to no fault of Great Explorations) but this feeling could have been averted if... more

While in town on a brief visit, I took my 1 year old and 3 year old to Great Explorations and they loved it! They didn't want to leave. They were both busy doing hands on learning for 3 hours! If it wasn't for lunch, they would have wanted to stay much longer. There were several hands on learning stations... more

I brought my 1 and 4 year old here on an overcast day and they did not want to leave. There is a special enclosed area with lots of activities for wee ones. They included building blocks of different materials, books, a play ship with a ramp for running and costumes, puzzles, teach them how to weave etc. My 4... more

Too pricy! $9.00 general admission beginning with 2 year olds ! Only a handful of interactives which didn't seem to excite the children at all. I could find a better way to spend my money. more
