Need something to do when you can't go to the beach? I highly recommend the MFA! There is plenty of nearby parking, either on the street or in a lot behind the venue, although be sure to bring lots of quarters, or you'll have to download the parking app that the town uses (which was a pain in the butt... This is an excellent museum with great collections of art. I would say along with the Dali, they team up to be the best in St Pete. Be sure to take the time to find out when the best exhibits are up. Their internal collection is ok, but they bring awesome visiting collections that are worth timing the visit.

This is a wonderful permanent collection. We took our kids there and it is manageable with kids. You can spend 1 hour there and still feel like you have seen great pieces. And, if you go after 5 p.m. On Thursdays, admission is only $5 per person - that's Right five dollars! At that price, it is a steal for... More

The downtown St Petersburg and marina location is beautiful and convenient. The collection was diverse and impressive. The fine photography exhibit was a pleasant surprise and rewarding to view. It brought back memories of my photo art studies in the late 60's and 70's, with examples of photos by artists that I studied and experienced in lectures and exhibits at... More

It's easy to spend a few hours wandering through the various exhibits. The gift shop had some neat items as well. Well worth the visit. Limited free parking in back and there's metered parking in front, but if you go a few blocks west, on street parking is available.

This museum is so much better than the Tampa Museum of Art. I guess they just have more "old money" in St. Pete. Their visiting exhibits are varied and interesting. Their permanent collection is particularly fine and wide ranging. The gift shop and dinning room are worth the trip alone. The building itself, the gardens and trees made the whole... More

A beautiful museum in a lovely setting. Extremely well kept, both inside and out. Pride is shown everywhere. Interesting exhibits, both traveling and permanent. Well-stocked museum store. The piano concert was an added bonus.

The Museum of Fine Arts in St Petersburg is right in the thick of lively downtown St Pete. It's an elegant building on the waterfront with a wonderful view, holding artwork of all ages. Literally. There's everything from ancient Greek and Roman artifacts to Asian art to original Impressionist paintings to photography to modern art. I really enjoy myself each... More

The museum is small but has some interesting paintings. Due to its size, we opted to go after 5:00 on Thursday when it only cost $5.00 per person to get in. Otherwise, it would have been overpriced for what it housed.

N.A.R.M. reciprocal. Plan to eat at the Cafe. This a moderately sized facility with a substantial and varied permanent collection. Three main exhibits hall to browse. The 3d art that is mingled with the permanent collection will take the longest to see. See these first, grab a bite and the cafe, and continue with your exploration in the next two... More
