I really enjoyed my visit to the MFA. They have a wide range of art exhibits, from many different cultures and all throughout history to the contemporary art (that I don't care too much for). I enjoy the older & more realistic art, and from that perspective I was really pleased. I will definitely return, as there is so much... More

I wasn't expecting such a nice collection of work. But the museum has an eclectic permanent collection of works spanning continents and decades and pieces by famous artists such as O'Keefe, Cézanne, Renior, Gauguin, Monet. Some sculpture, photography and mixed media works and impressive traveling exhibits. There's also a decent, casual restaurant inside that's good for lunch.

... and not just because it's air conditioned, but that doesn't hurt. The museum has a wide variety of displays, from paintings, sculptures, video displays, and even pottery from some pueblo Indian artists from my home state of NM. The oldest piece there is over 4000 years old. That's pretty incredible. I am not typically a "museum" person as I... More

The Museum has an extensive collection of art from many different eras. There is something for everyone to see. One section is continually changing making for a different trip each time you visit. The best time to visit is Thursday night because it's $5 to get in. If you live downtown easy walk or bike ride there - with plenty... More

They have everything from ancient to modern art forms from around the world. The rooms flowed nicely from genre to genre. They had an ample variety of my personal favorites - 17th century European through late 19th century impressionist paintings. Drawbacks: I felt the descriptions contained more about the artists themselves than the contents of the paintings, but that's probably... More

First, I'm NOT a (art) 'museum person. That being said, we've lived in 6 countries and seen plenty enough for me to know, after going through St. Petersburg's, with my cousin & husband, that there are many many fine works represented here, including a surprising number of Florida 'masters' (that modeled themselves on European counterparts of their day). There was... More
