Our first visit to the Museum of Fine Arts was to see the "Monet to Matisse" exhibit. We're glad that this exhibit brought us to the Museum, as it is a cultural jewel for the Tampa Bay area. The exhibit was intriguing, and featured a number of prominent European artists, including Renoir and Picasso. The space was comfortable, nicely lighted... More

I love this museum. The halls, the art. the artists. Really just a lovely experience that one doesn't expect to find in a Florida town. Yet, I've been fortunate to have discovered this place a few decades ago, and it has been a few decades since I was back - and I found it every bit as wonderful as the... More

I've visited St. Petersburg twice and made it a point to visit the MFA. It has some really unique and interesting collections that I could spend a lot of time appreciating. The exhibits that rotate in are always worth the trip just by themselves. In particular, there was a high school exhibit that was amazing. Too bad it was tucked... More

There were three exhibits - the permanent exhibit, an Impressionist exhibit, and a Japanese woodcut prints exhibit. The quality and variety of the items included in the exhibits were very good. The size of the museum is nice in that it isn't overwhelming. I would have spent a little more time there , but a friend was waiting for me.

St. Pete is a wealthy town, but also small, so I was shocked at their collection - Monet, Matisse, Cezanne, Renoir, Gauguin, Picasso and more. It's also small enough to go through in a half day without any rush.

This is a beautiful museum of art on the waterfront. They have wonderful docent tours as well as a first class restaurant with a water view. Check their web site for special collection dates.

We visited the MFA in St. Petersburg, FL from Fort Lauderdale to see the Monet to Matisse: On the French Coast exhibit. The present exhibit will run until May 31, 2015. If you can, go see it. However, although titled Monet to Matisse, do not be taken aback by the fact that there are not many Monets nor Matisses, but... More

The MFA isn't large, but it has a great collection. The current Impressionist and Japanese woodblock exhibitions were very well curated.

Limited selection, but food cooked to order. Not ground breaking or cutting edge food. You get exactly what you ordered. Atmosphere is quiet and light filled so that is more than enjoyable to me.
