As a visitor to many museums, I was fairly impressed by the Museum of Fine Arts. It was more extensive than expected. The one minor negative is that the galleries were not visibly labeled and the galleries were not consecutively organized. Instead of a going through time, you were jumping time periods while walking through. We spent about 2 hours... More

Once you're done enjoying the museum, go out the front entrance and experience the most wonderful tree you have ever seen!

Great way to spend a very rainy day. Priced reasonably. Awesome Stuff to See. My 10 year old twins loved it.

With the Dali right down the street, come see this one too. There is a current exhibit of five decades of photography, which is inspiring. The permanent collection is diverse and there is a lovely garden as well.

Ran across this wonderful art museum when we were driving through St Pete coming from Tampa! It's a very nice smaller museum full of beautiful works of art! The only thing I didn't like about it, is the guards all around. I guess they have to make sure no one touches anything or brings food in, etc, but goodness they... More

When you enter the museum the first door on the right has Chinese and Indian art this sets a nice tone of global art. Each room is small and easy to navigate with excellent descriptions mounted by each work. The atmosphere is lovely and peaceful and the garden is lovely to sit in and just to reflect and relax in.... Time and Time visiting this museum is a joy for me, for there is always something new to discover admire and to learn about, I have enjoyed the interactions with the friendly director, curator and the staff members. The lectures are sometimes really good.

this is a small art museum but worth the visit to see the fine collection they have, especially if you go on Thursday night, when entrance is only five dollars! There is also a fine cafe here and often live music. Last year there were also porch parties outside with free wine on the same night.

Certainly not the Louvre but well worth spending time here. I would prefer more European and impressionist artwork but a beautiful museum none the less.
