We took a fishing charter from Merry Pier. The pier is nice and has a lot of waterfowl that loves to hang around. The pier has a small market that sells fresh fish. Ask at the beginning of the week what, and when, they will have.

When there in July 2014 we saw a manatee right around the pier, with a lot of good fishing. Our recent visit in July 2015 did not dissapoint, but found better fishing along the walkway (fishing license required if not fishing on the pier).

We fished here one afternoon and the staff at the pier was extremely helpful and nice. It is a nice place to see all the bird life and boats of the area. You can see dolphins and other fish. It is very nice place to spend the afternoon.

Cute little pier and definitely take the shuttle to shell key. The staff here was extremely friendly and helpful. You can purchase snacks and drinks much cheaper than at the hotels. Had a great time.

A wood pier with "for rent "tourist boat trips and head boats for fishing. Stop and watch the fish being cleaned or buy some fresh fish right off the boats. A typical tourist pier you see everywhere there are boats. You have to put quarters in the meters to park anywhere around this area which really sucks. Check it out... More

Merry Pier has a fresh fish market but we are not selling fish caught on the boats that do charters from our pier. We buy locally caught whole fish from commercial fisherman and we sell mostly filleted fish but also sell whole fish if that is what the customer requests. You can visit our website (merrypier.com) to learn more about... More

Take a boat to Shell Island, a dolphin cruise, a sunset cruise, a ferry to downtown St Petersburg...sit around and people and bird watch. Purchase fresh seafood directly off the fishing boats that come in (let them filet the fish for you!) Small marina with very friendly staff and great ambiance.

Thanks for the parking validation, but I didn't know about it ahead of time. The dock should be washed occasionally with all the bird poop.

Merry Pier offers beautiful scenery, however use caution when coming by boat. During peak hours, it can become very chopping in this area.

Located in historic pass a grill one can just sit and watch the activities, the birds, the boats, the view across , bring a fishing pole and try to catch one, or simply take a ferry out to one of the many destinations in the area.
