We had a great time at Merry pier, watching the fisherman preparing the fish that they had just grabbed. From there we took the excursion to Shell Key and had a great time. During the trip they give us advice on how to treat nature around and explain the Dolphin Conservation Programmes.

We rented 3 poles and went fishing. They have a 24 hour license there just for their pier that's only about $3 and 4 hour rental for $15 that includes 6 shrimp/rental. Lots of little fish around that are pretty easy to catch. Kids had a blast.

The pier is in Pass-a-Grille, Florida which is an area of St. Pete Beach. There are many mom and pop restaurants both on the ocean side and intracoastal. It is a very small strip of land so it's literally steps from the beach to the intracoastal where this pier is located. The small shop sells some souvenier items as well... More

Stopped in to rent fishing poles. We know nothing about fishing and needed some guidance. Man working provided no guidance, got more help from the other people fishing on the pier. Rented two poles and got a bag of shrimp. The pier had no railings. Not kid friendly. The kids wanted to look over to see the line in the... More

Sorry you did not feel the staff was helpful. We always take time to explain how best to fish off of the pier when people are not experienced, especially if they tell us they need some guidance. The fee we charged you was just to offset some of our equipment cost, all of which was lost when the reel broke.... More

Convenient bait store if you want to drop a line and try fishing on your own. However, no fresh bait just frozen.

We do have live shrimp every day. Not sure why you thought we only sold frozen bait unless you came on a day when we sold out of live shrimp which sometimes happens late in the afternoon. In the summer months it is more difficult to keep the shrimp alive in the warm water so we don't order more than... More

Caught several small fish from the dock and had a great time fishing here. Later we learned that you should not jerk on the pole when the fish is on. Had we known that we would have caught more fish. Great way to spend a few hours if you like fishing and fishing supplies are right there at the store.... More

My husband fishes adjacent to this little place, so I've been there often. Very nice people, clean restrooms and great proximity to Pass-A-Grille beach. They offer bait, snacks, drinks and even sunset cruises. A great place in this tiny community.
