We took the shell island shuttle on a cold rainy December day. We were the only people who signed up, and we were the only people on the island. The folks that run the shuttle are very nice, and provide bags for your shells and have snorkels and masks if you're feeling brave. The island is very beautiful. We saw... More

Beautiful little island for shelling, snorkeling, and bird watching. We spent a great afternoon collecting shells, snorkeling and walking the beach.

We saw 3 families of dolphins, unexpectedly playing in the cove. We also had a wonderful time looking for shells. make sure to take water and a snack with you there are no amenities on the island.

We chose a beautiful sunny afternoon to take the shuttle out to Shell Key. The shuttle left the dock right on time. As we took the short trip to Shell Key Island, we were accompanied by a pod of dolphins who put on quite a show beside our shuttle boat. The island was just what we were told it would... More

When visiting St. Pete's beach we spend hours combing the sand for shells and thought we'd try our luck on Shell Island. The Shell Key Shuttle is $25 roundtrip and we took the 10 am shuttle hoping to spend the day. You can pick from the 12:15 pm, 2:15 pm or 4:15 pm return times. While there were many shells... More

Me and my partners day trip here so beautiful and peaceful, we had a section of the beach to ourselves, hot weather great sights, birds and shells. Even stopped on the way back in the boat to enjoy the Dolphins swim past. So good that the area is preserved and protected and makes a beautiful place to relax

We took shell key shuttle's sunset cruise. Loved the captain and Colleen--they were charming and shared interesting facts about dolphins and the area. The cruise itself lasted about an hour and half, I think. You can bring food and beer/wine, etc. which makes it even better. Does it get any better than watching the sunset in the gulf?

We wanted to bring home some shells and this trip was perfect for it! Good price and you can spend as much or as little time as you want, not a strict schedule like some of the other tours. Goggles, snorkels and shell sacks are included for use! We found sand dollars just walking on the beach and several when... More

We took the noon shuttle to the island with a cooler. We spent 4 hours there! Between shelling, dolphin watching and just relaxing, we weren't bored once! The boat provides snorkel gear and shell collecting bags. Worth every penny! Highly recommend.
