It's half price for children (22 for adults). The boat ride is about 10 minutes. Once we got there I realized you don't have to pay to do the same thing on any beach in the area. I am glad I went but it's not something I'll do again. more

We loved this place. It is simply beautiful, lots of birds and wildlife. We spent alot of time on bothe the bay and ocean side. On the bay side, the water was clear and warm. My children & I enjoyed a day on Shell Key via the shuttle this June. It was a fabulous day! Lots of beautiful shells and sand dollars. The snorkeling was fine, perfect for my kids. There aren't a ton of fish to look at, but we did see a school of stingrays and a manatee...and tons and tons of sandollars.... more

Shell Key Shuttle leaves from Merry Pier, a tiny marina located in the Pass-a-Grille section of St. Pete Beach. Fare is $17 per person, and you pay an extra $1 for a pass that allows your car to be parked at a meter for the duration of yoir trip. For the modest fee of $14 it's like having your own private island. My daughter and I spent the day there in early March and, even though it was too cool to get in the water, we really enjoyed the shelling and walking on the beach. Take a picnic, kick back, and love this place! more
