We discovered Shell Key via the Passe-A-Grille beach website. The shuttle was $25 per adult and 12.50 for kids. They provided transportation, an umbrella for the beach, and snorkel equipment. Once you buy your ticket, they provide you a parking pass for metered spots. We left at 10AM and returned on the 2:15 shuttle. It was the perfect amount of... More

I definitely recommend taking the Shell Key Shuttle over to Shell Key for the afternoon. Shell Key Shuttle leaves from Merry Pier. Found out the hard way, if you buy a shuttle ticket, you get a parking permit for the street. So, definitely get the permit before putting a bunch of change in a meter. The shuttle provides umbrellas, snorkels,... More

We stayed in Treasure Island - the Shuttle was an easy drive and much better for us than some of the longer boat rides. Liked the flexibility of determining the length of our stay (we opted for 2 hrs). The Captain & crew really have their act together! Efficient ticketing process and on-time departures/returns. We enjoyed the short boat ride... More

We decided that a trip to Shell Island would be something we would enjoy according to the tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed! As mentioned in other reviews, you can buy a parking pass for $2 and stay in the little village area all day. We were dealing with some possible weather conditions..ie...Tropical Storm Andrea...but we did get to go... More

Had a Great day on shell key. Boat ride is only 10 or 15 minutes so no big deal but the island is great and the shells are plentiful. Got some nice sand dollars and decent shells. Mostly scallops and clam shells but still a nice amount. Water was clear and we enjoyed a nice swim. Saw a baby manta... More

My husband, teenagers, and I had a great time at Shell Key today! On the boat ride over to the island, the captain spotted dolphins and went out of his way to make sure everyone had an opportunity to see them. The island was better than expected. We collected more shells, especially sand dollars than we could carry. They provided... More

If you love to collect shells this is the place to go, loved it. I saw stingrays, shark and a dolphin while there. They provide an unbrella and snorkel equipment. Their schedule is very nice to accomodate how long you want to stay.

We are two srs who arrived at shell island by chance after taking a cruise out of lauderdale The ferry svc was iffy as it was raining and it was christmas day eve, our only chance to go and they did go, and were so gracious, just the two of us and a fisherman going over. Well needless to say... More

My husband and I visited this week and had a beautiful time on this barrier island! Bird sanctuary, clear clean water with many gorgeous sea shells....found about 100 shells from little gems to 6 inch pen shells and large 5 inch cockle shells! I can't find such shell laiden beaches in the carribean islands or mexican beaches...this one beats them... More

We were dropped off at 10:15 and spent the entire day relaxing, snorkeling, sanddollar diving . We've lived in the area 6 months now and it was our first trip. There are beautiful birds nesting and we actually swam with a manatee and a group of stingrays. Beautiful day and I'm glad we live her so we can make it... More
