Located in Pass-A-Grille at Merry Pier, the boat ride is less than 10 minutes to Shell Island. The cost is similar ($25) to the other area shuttles to Shell Island. The husband and wife crew were very friendly and helpful, providing a complimentary mesh bag for the shelling excursion and helpful information on where to find the best shelling on... More

I saw birds on shell island I didn't see anywhere else. Crew is professional and informed us about the nearby dolphin population on our way out to the island. Go when high tide is receding and you will find sand dollars. I found 4!!

If you love a short ride on the shuttle with a friendly Captain and his wife (crew) to an island full of shells, this is the event for you! I recommend you call before you go because if there is high winds, etc. he will only run at certain times. We went on the early 10 a.m. shuttle run and... More

Taking the open air shuttle to Shell Key is about ten minutes or so. It's a relaxing ride past some beautiful home and when you arrive at Shell Key, the mate unloads the stairs and your free to explore. Walking around to the awestfield side of the islland was a favorite. Wade chest deep in clear water and explore for... More

Paradise! As God made it! Undisturbed and in glorious natural beauty, Abundantly teeming with life, color and something to tantalize every sense. The Captain and his first mate and wife Nancy were obviously seasoned professionals who had not lost their heart for the love of hospitality! A trip to remember for sure. Dan n' Nancy, Buffalo, NY

Well run operation. Safety is a priority. Friendly couple. Quick trip to the island where you can walk and collect shells and relax. Passe a Grille is a great town with a terrific beach, shops, and restaurants. A welcome excursion away from the crowds of St. Pete Beach. One of the highlights of our trip!

Spending the day on Shell Island is always a special treat, but be prepared as there is no place to get food and no bathroom facilities. It is perfect for a day of peace and tranquility, walking along the shore, searching for fabulous shells, and just getting away from everything. We usually see a large group of stingrays passing by... More

We went on a cloudy and cool day. We missed the first boat which meant that when we got to the key there were tons of people already combing the beach. I had most my luck finding sand dollars in the shallow water because for most the water was too cold to wade in. We did get to see a... More

Shell Key Shuttle was a great way to spend a few hours shelling on a quiet, unspoiled beach. My husband and I found several very large whelks, sand dollars and loads of sunray Venus among other nice shells. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Be sure to take sunscreen and water, as there is nothing on the island -... More

If you want to get a bit off the beaten path, but not TOO far off, this is an excellent option. The operators are very good at what they do , and get the job done. Very basic transportation, but that is not the point. They are getting you to the key in a basic but very friendly and competent... More
