I went to Apalachicola and St George Island because I DID NOT want the crowds, traffic, and high prices of the Pensacola-Panama City panhandle with all the over crowding and limited beach access. All of St George Island is wonderful, easy beach access, but especially St George Island State Park. The cost to enter is $6 per day for a... More

Went to the island on a last minute camping trip. The campsites have minimal shade and not very tent friendly. Did I mention it was hot? Did also mention that there is no AC in the bathrooms? Also, the mosquitoes are Gravenous and travel in swarms. Worst I have ever seen. On a bright note, the Rangers were very nice!!... More

We spent almost every day of our week long vacation at the state park. It's beautiful and very inexpensive. My husband fished and the kids found all kinds of shells. We saw dolphins, loggerhead sea turtles, sting rays, starfish, and lots of other great things. I would definitely recommend going there if you're in the area.

I'm a surfer from Tallahassee and this is not a place to go if you want waves. I recommend Jacksonville, St. Andrews which is in Panama City.

The national reserve on the east end of the island is quiet and beautiful too. It is like having your own beach for the most part. Swim, tan or read a book and relax.

Once you head through the guard area....you go back in time! You can imagine the entire Island back in time. Even if you do not go to the beach, just go to take in the beauty and tranquility of the area!!!!

Upon pulling on our site we were greeted by a 4 foot diamond back rattle snake the my 10 year old stumbled upon. The camp site was very rough with shells, not very tent friendly. along with the sun and minimal shade found on each campsite. The one thing I did not read while researching our Gulf Coast Road trip... More

What a pleasant way to take as stroll along the beach. You see lots of native birds and other little creatures. We always make a trip to the park while staying on the island. We love to go late in the day before it closes, there are pictures at every turn. They have done a great job keeping this a... More

Beautiful beaches close to CLEAN bathrooms, showers, and vending machines! We even took our family pictures here on the beach. MUST stop and spend a day here!
