The park wasn't anything special. Though the park didn't carry a 'wow factor', it did provide a more private beach environment.

Highlight of trip! It lived up to being rated the #3 beach in the U.S.! Very relaxing and beautiful day!

The park was full so we had to wait about 20 mins to get in. The beach was beautiful! We parked at one of the small pull off areas as you first enter the park. The beach wasn't crowded there, but we were a mile or so from the bathroom and showers.

We went there to surf fish, but didn't catch but a few small whiting and pompano. Nevertheless, the beaches are clean, accesses are plentiful and it's very peaceful. We went on a Wednesday, so it was not crowded at all. It was hot but the onshore breeze was wonderful and relaxing. The road through the park is paved and there... More

This beach makes Dr Beach's top ten US beaches each year for a reason! Don't expect restaurants and commercial activity. This area is untouched and pristine. Town is four miles from the gate with options for rentals, groceries, restaurants and ice cream. Make out to the east end!

Visited the park twice during our recent SGI vacation. Would have liked to drive to end but only accessible to fishing with permits.

Not a hotel, tiki bar or condo in sight. Camping and RV sites looked clean and well spaced. Hiking, beach combing and shelling, nature trails, Gulf and Bay views and plenty to do for campers. 15 miles across the causway to restuarants and shopping.

I talked my wife into trying this park, it was her very first tent camping experience. I was blown away from the experience, the park and Rangers are more than helpful and ready to assist! The beach access is unparalleled, the facilities are amazing! I don't know how they maintain their park, but it's more than beautiful. You get a... More

We have been camping here for 25+ years. Our girls now bring their kids. Simple things are great. Beach pavilions are wonderful. We bring kayaks for the bay and rent bicycles for non beach times.
