St. George island is dog frindly. We thought the park was too. You can only take your pets to the camping area or trails. You can not have them on the beaches,at the picnic pavilions and tables,or anywhere else. We paid $6 to go in,and had to turn around and leave because We had our dogs with us. It's beautiful... This park is well maintained and kept at a very natural state. Very protected from the masses. It lacks anything too special unless you have a bike and can go all the way to the tip of the island where no cars are allowed. Hope for calm weather and not too hot.

We enjoy going to the beach as much as possible. This beach is great. Less crowded than the other beaches in Florida. A very relaxing area. We went in April, the water had a bunch of jellyfish in it so it wasn't always the best for the kiddos to play in. They just had to keep an eye out. Great... More

Rented a house in the secluded and private Plantation community in St George Island for a week. House was great. I am not sure if this is a specific issue isolated to this secluded community or the entire beach in St George Island. You cannot spend a minute on the beach without being attached by 10, 20, 30... bitting flies.... More

The ONLY negative at St George Island state park is the distance from my house! Breathtaking, beautiful, amazing, etc, the adjectives go on. Plenty of parking, clean facilities and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the facilities are towards the rear of the park. Had there been one more facility in front, I would have... Georgeous views. Great beaches. You can go for the deserted look on some of the smaller beaches to the group affair with plenty of facilities for all.

We have a free pass to all FL state parks so the admission fee was waived for us, the beaches are far less crowded than the public beach by the light house. I lounged on the beach while my husband spent 3 hours photographing dunes and landscape.

A must see. Miles of soft sand, sea birds, rolling surf, sand dunes, clean rest rooms. For an extra small fee you are given a code to go to the tip of the island to fish. Well worth it. Bike or hike to the bay side. Park ranger was very helpful in giving us fishing pointers. Bring your camera! No... More

My mother, sister, sister-in-law and self (ages 58-79) arrived at 1am but had called ahead to let them know of late arrival and they made arrangement for us with no problem getting in to the park and to our site - this is stated somewhere in the literature I read and on our confirmation. GPS took us straight to the... More
