It is so vast that it is hard to capture on camera. Keep your eyes open for snakes and wear lots of mosquito repellent when walking through the trees or shaded areas. There are a few boardwalks but we were driven back by the mosquitos. Dogs are not allowed in the State Park. There is a camp ground in the... More

This is a 7 mile drive just filled with natural beauty. The sand dune formations, the beautiful beach and shore line. Several places to stop along the way with a path to the beach that does not interfere with the dunes. Two rest areas with tables, grills, and restrooms. A great way to spend an afternoon!

Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park has good beaches along the Gulf coast of Florida. The beach along the park's main drive is free to enter but the beach on East Pass needs special permit. There are no charges for bicyclists or hikers. You can swim but see caution flag. Lifeguards are not provided. Birds like pelicans,... More

Enjoyed this so much the first time we went back again and plan on going this year as well. Park has many interesting trails and points of interests. Hiking is easy on the trails.

This beach is very quiet and beautiful. It doesnt have any other attraction but the ocean and sand so if you are looking for other amusements this will not be the place. If you are looking for a quiet beach and vast ocean you will be thrilled. There is a place to shower off the sand but outside and the... More

We have enjoyed camping at St. George Island State Park (TAKE BUG SPRAY) before, but this time we just hiked there. We took the 2.5 mile trail out to the primitive campsites on the bay - that's 5 miles round trip. The trail was interesting and we saw an abundance of neotropical birds that had just started their migrations. We... More

Don't miss visiting this state park. Pristine Beaches, Beautiful Scenery but not dog friendly! There is only one boardwalk on the opposite side of the road from the ocean where dogs can be on leash.

The campground is quiet, No outside noise. Birds aglore including snowy ergrets, cardinals,. Walked the trails, biked to the beach. Bring plenty to eat as there is no store in the state park. Only negative is misquitos the size of B52 bombers so make a fire, bring a zapper and cover yourself with spray and clothes. It was 72 degrees

Visiting St. George Island on fall break with our teen boys was the first time we'd ever seen & experienced a natural beach landscape. The park has a small admission fee & is bicycle friendly. The road through the middle of the park is straight and quite long with very tall sand dunes on either side which we did not... More
