Description: San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St...
San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers.

Nice tour and free samples

The lady that conducted had quite an accent so part of the tour was hard to follow. Nevertheless, we had great sampling and bought a few to bring home.

A visit includes a free tour and tasting. It's a nice facility but not especially scenic. The tour guide's talk is a little canned, but you will enjoy the free tasting. Don't expect European varietals, but they have a nice selection of native American grapes and hybrids.

This is a good winery tour and tasting that is free. I can't remember the last time I went to a free tasting. For those who are there on weekends, there are rooftop lounges. This is a good tasting that should not be missed.

Very pleasant, informative tour of the winery, but at the end of the tour, the tasting of 9 wines was an unexpected bonus. Our guide was great as were the wines.

The main draws to this attraction are a designated trolley stop, and the Big Kahuna: free wine tasting. The “tour” is a video and walking past fermentation areas. Some of the wines are made from muscadines—also called scuppernongs—thick-skinned musky grapes used to make juice and the subject wine. Thing is, “musky” is defined as a strong odor. Muscadines are not... More

Love this place! Everyone working there is so helpful and not pushy at all. Didn't take the tour this time, but have twice in the past. Fun little tour and a short video to watch.

The winery is worth the stop. Free wine tasting, nice wine / merchandise shop. Bought several good wines while there. They had music and food on top of the winery on what appeared to be an outside deck. Too crowded to get into at that time, but a definite place to kill time for a bit. Will come back.

This is mostly a wine tasting tour. Not really much in the wine making process. Good to do while in town. Good wines would recommend to visitors

It's free, so don't expect much in terms of the tour. The tour is really just a video and brief walk. The wine tasting was good. The wines are good, with a good variety. The only problem is that we had our daughter and there was nothing for her (like grape juice) and no place for her to sit during... More
