According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers. « less

My husband and I are wine drinkers, so we thought this would be a good idea. We were right. When we arrived, the next tour and tasting started ten minutes later. We browsed the shop which had the wines, wine aerators, gifts, and food. The tour started a few minutes late. We went upstairs. (Stairs/elevator) Then we went into a... More

We went here after doing the nearby St. Augustine Distillery. After what passed for a tour, a film and a walk to a large horse shoe shaped tasting area, we were poured a number of wines for tasting accompanied by a fast paced talk relating to the grapes, and some doubled handed pouring. The talk was entertaining but the wines... More

The winery is one of the stops where the local shuttle services stop. The tour and wine tasting is worth your time, even if you don't drink wine. We found the employees were helpful in answering my questions to narrow down my select of wines to purchase.

My husband and I love to check out wineries. The one I liked most was San Sebastian's in St Augustine. The tour they give and the video you watch is a step by step process to making wine. The wine tasting afterwards is wonderful. It impressed us enough that we bought a case and had it shipped home. The only... More

Enjoyed the tour and the wine testing at the end. Our guide was very helpful and friendly. I'm not a big wine drinker and still bought three bottles because they were really good. It's free and worth your time when you tour St. Augustine.

The wine tasting was ok and was just too fast. It was still nice though and I would recommend maybe booking a private tour to get the full experience.

This historic oldest city in the US is the home to my favorite winery, they offer complimentary winery tours and tasting everyday of the week and their wines are excellent! The people that work here are so friendly and helpful and the gift shop has anything and everything to do with wine. And how convenient, the Whetstone Chocolate Factory is... More

We have been to lakeridge & wanted to visit this sister winery. The tour here was better than lakeridge, our tour guide was funny and entertaining. We really like these wines, because they are locally grown grapes. The store is very small compared to lakeridge but is well layed out. The tour & tasting is free and it is an... More
