According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers. « less

Our tour of the "winery" was walking upstairs, seeing a video and walking across a platform and back. I don't believe this is really a winery but more of a hub for the wine that they make in Clermont, Florida known as the Lakeridge winery. The wine tasting was more informative than some I have been to in the past... More

Our first time wine tasting was good experience. They explain what kind of wine goes with different meals. Excellent choices of wines and reasonable prices.

When you get tired of the tourist traps and "old" things in St Augustine, take a short trip over to the San Sebastian Winery. The tour is interesting and there are free tastings. They make a variety of wines so you can probably find something that you like. The wines are not Napa quality but they make some interesting varieties... More

We loved the visit to the winery in St. Augustine. The tour guide was well informed and a ton of fun! She did and awesome job. She said she was raised on a bar stool and I believe it cause she knew everything there was to know about wine. She was great and the wine was fabulous. The wine tasting... More

The free tour is awesome. Jerry was a great tour guide. And it was his birthday. The wine tasting was great. The wines are seriously above average.

We went a few years back. Did the whole tour. Very educational and very interesting. Overall it was a good experience. I drink wine, beer, & hard liquor. All within moderation because I get sleepy. Ha! I don't know if we went on an "off" day, but the wine we tasted SUCKED! It smelled and tasted like gear oil! This... More

I stopped by San Sebastian Winery for the 2:25 tour and Jerry was the tour guide. He was absolutely delightful. He took care of probably 40-50 people all by himself and that was very impressive. He did the tour and wine tasting. I would recommend this tour to anyone/everyone. It was completely free, no high pressure sales, children were welcome... More

One of the stops on the trolley that we hopped off for. We did a wine tasting and tour, and it was a very enjoyable experience.

Free tour and free wine! Incredible. Our tour guide, Lee, was awesome! The wine was delicious even some of the reds and I'm normally NOT a red fan. All around a great visit! Even bought chillerator because of the tasting!
