Owner description: San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers.

The tour, as advertised, featured a video presentation about the history of the winery and the family involved. It was mildly interesting. The tour was of their bottling facility, which was not running when we were there and lasts maybe 10 minutes. The wine tasting at the end was VERY good. We sampled about 8 different wines and got an... More

For anyone that has toured local wineries, after the first 100 tours you lose interest in how wine is made. Thus I am quick to get to the wine drinking and snacks. So I can not comment on the tour itself. The wines however are very good. I will go as far as saying that they are the best sweet... More

I prefer my wine to be on the dry side. The first white wine was a semi-dry and good. The other wines tasted were too sweet for my taste. They don't charge for tastings which is a plus. There is a short video on their winery. Nice selection of wine stuff to purchase in the wine store.

You begin upstairs with a 12 minute video. The video covers the history of the winery and the muscadine grape. Some people will bypass the video and go straight to the wine tasting. The wine tasting is set up at several stops through out. Be sure you have your identification because it is checked before your first taste is poured.... More

This experience was not much to write home about. The tour was very interesting, moving a lot of people through like driving cattle. Ingenious! The wines were not my favorites. West coast is far superior. Facility and employees were very nice. Food just okay.

They set up so you go along and try different wines and ports. During the week they said the tours are more personal, we went over Thanksgiving so busy.

Learned about making wine, free tasting and ended up buying some wine. Thought the prices for the wine were reasonable. We enjoyed our time there. I did this a few years ago and we went upstairs and sat outside and listened to music and had some sangria. Was to cold this time for that.

We started the tour by watching a short video about the types of grapes they use and how they are processed into wine. Then our guide came to us and took us for a short tour. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! We tested 7 wines, red and white, dry and sweet. The tour and... More

We were literally driving through St. Augustine while on vacation in Orlando, to look at a boat I saw listed for sale...so we drove to check it out. It didn't pan out, but while starting to head back, we saw a small sign on the road saying "Winery"..we had some time, so followed the signs, and pulled in just as... More
