Description: San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St...
San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers.

This was my first visit to a winery and wine tasting. I was hesitant, but went along because my girlfriend was excited to do it. The tour and tasting are free after you watch a 10 minute dvd on how the family run business was started and how the wine is produced. The short tour was another 10 minutes which... More

I had no problem with the self guided tour because it allowed us to try things at our leisure and not feel pressured by the staff to make unwanted purchases. Having said that, the staff was very friendly and open to answering every question we had, and needless to say we still walked out with a nice variety case and... More

We were really looking forward to this tour as we were not able to go when we visited last year. The tour was self guided - you were given a plastic cup and sent to various stations. What was disappointing (aside from tasting wine from little plastic cups) was that few of the attendants at the different stations cared that... More

Simple and short tour followed by entertaining wine tasting. These wines are too sweet for me but I could appreciate learning about their wine making process. Wish I would have gone on a weekend so I could have enjoyed the rooftop wine and jazz bar.

Experience was great. Tour guide was more informative about wine in general than the many wineries I have been to across the country. Generous pours for tastings too. Took two bottles home :)

OK - we almost passed this one up as I knew the wines would be too sweet for me. But the trolley stopped there and we hopped off for a tour. It was the shortest and most simple tour of any winery we've been on, but the wine tasting was very entertaining. Our guide has a witty sense of humor... More

We enjoyed the tour and history of this winery. We also bought a few bottles of the local wines. Matt was our guide and even though he looked younger than 21 he had alot of knowledge on the wines.

The retired Navy F4 pilot was an exceptional tour guide. He sure knew his wine. We have attended this tour many times and everytime we learn something new.

I love this winery, this was my second time attending and I brought my family along this time, the only issue I had was some grumpy old worker. His tone and demeanor was extremely disrespectful and out of line,. I made sure I told one of the other employees and she said " He's just a grumpy old man" lo... More
