Owner description: San Sebastian Winery, founded in 1996 is located at 157 King Street, St. Augustine, Florida in one of Henry Flagler’s old East Coast Railway buildings located just a few blocks from historic downtown. According to historians, this area is the birthplace of American wine, dating back to 1562. Today, San Sebastian ranks as one of Florida's premium wineries, and remains a pioneer in the development of table, sparkling and dessert wines from hybrid and muscadine grapes. Vintage-dated varietals from hybrids such as Stover and Blanc Du Bois are produced and marketed along with blended and sparkling wines from native Muscadine grapes. Port and Cream Sherry dessert wines are also produced by and sold under the San Sebastian brand. Together, these labels have won many awards for excellence in winemaking, over 300 so far with more to come each season. Every year more than 100,000 people are expected to visit the winery’s extensive tasting room and wine shop. San Sebastian Winery has an overall production of over 80,000 cases, (that’s over 960,000 bottles!). San Sebastian wines are sold at the winery and at major supermarkets and wine shops throughout Florida. “The Cellar Upstairs” Wine, Jazz & Blues Bar, open weekends, is located on the rooftop of the Winery building and is a best kept secret with locals. Open on weekends, featuring incredible live music from a wide range of talented local and regional Bands. Relax to the music and enjoy the tremendous views overlooking the St. Augustine skyline while enjoying a glass of San Sebastian Wine and light appetizers.

We were literally driving through St. Augustine while on vacation in Orlando, to look at a boat I saw listed for sale...so we drove to check it out. It didn't pan out, but while starting to head back, we saw a small sign on the road saying "Winery"..we had some time, so followed the signs, and pulled in just as... More

Learned a lot about winemaking on this free tour which ended with a tasting of 5 different wines. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us good tips on wines. Would definitely come again on our next trip to St Augustine!

The tour is one of the most informative you will experience. Our guide was Stephen. He is clearly very knowledgeable about wine. He thought us a lot and answered all of our questions. The wines are very drinkable. Not our favorite, but good. The only thing that would have changed our overall rating to excellent would have been better wine... More

I have been here several times and absolutely loved it. It's safe to bring your kids as well. They give tours of the winery and teach different things. There is also a wine tasting for those 21 and up. You can buy the wine there in the shop and have it delivered to your home. The quality of wine is... More

Taking the tour of San Sebastian Winery was an excellent learning experience! Especially, when it came to the wine tasting at the end of the tour. We were even taught how to savor and test a glass of wine to enjoy it's full bouquet.

I didn't take the tour but got right into the tasting and the wine informer was so nice and informative. He was very entertaining. I have never had a wine tasting where the employee was so enthusiastic. I liked several of the wines and since they were well priced I bought my favorites. Definitely a place I would go back... More

They give you a small hard plastic cup which you bring to various stations for free pours of about six wines. Aside from the white, the wines tended to be on the sweeter side (two were fortified dessert wines). There is no hard sell for bottle purchases whatsoever, which is a big plus. Well worth a half hour. If so... More

Tour was short and nothing being done in the factory. But did have good wine tasting. We were able to taste 6 different wines and there was enough that we were able to feel the effects when we left (no driving,, we were riding the trolley.) Would recommend it....

Guide was interesting to listen to and knowledgeable about their products. Did not expect much from the sherry or port but they do an excellent job on both.
